I have been hunting this buck for 3 years now the first year I hunted him he was a very killable 9 point and I ended up killing a bigger 10 before I saw him. Year 2 hunting him he was a ghost only a few night pics in my food plot and one day pic on the edge of a cedar swamp. Year 3 this year he has been very active in my beans and brassicas plot but way after dark, it leads me to believe he's bedding in my swamp and coming up. After staying out of my land and hunting my in laws all of shot gun season I was hoping he would take refuge in my swamp or pines and stay nocturnal to keep the neighbors from killing him and it paid off he's still on the hoof. Tonight I'm heading into a little hidey-ho plot just off the swamp in my first real attempt to shoot him. Here is a pic from last year and one from this year. He lost some size in his frame but really packed on the mass.
Oh, that must be what they refer to as a "Swamp Donkey"? lmao Seriously, awesome buck! Good luck getting a crack at him.
Wow!! Good luck killing him!! I've got a giant on camera here in Maine too but well after dark, and some big woods that he can roam.
He was a no show, I did have a some good deer sightings even though I was being thrashed by the wind. Back to the same plot tonight we have fresh snow and way cooler temps here, should make for a good night!
