My cams have been soaking for 2 weeks now... It's always hard for me to let them sit longer than that! One more week and I will have the rye planted and SD cards in hand.

 

Starting about now I stop checking cams unless I am out there for a different reason

How many are going to be setting up bear baits?

 

Not me, but I think I'm going to put in next year.

Well change of plans for me... Buddy came over with some live traps and asked if he can put them out for the coon problem I've had. While we were out there I pulled the cards... New shooters and one buck that I'm very excited about!

Looks like we have some great bucks to chase this fall.

 

I have been loading up for bear baiting the last few days. Looks like I am going to be setting baits Monday or Tuesday. I have a 50 gallon drum of trail mix, 4 five gallon buckets of cookies, 2-50 pound bags of a mix with sugar cones, granola and smores, 2 buckets of lemon filling, 1 raspberry filling, 1 blueberry filling, 35 pound box of gum drops, 1 bucket of caramel frosting, 4 buckets of butter crème frosting, 16 loaves of bread, 10 packs of blueberry bagels, 50 pounds of circus peanuts and fruit jelly candies, dried cranberries, cheese flavored popcorn, grape jelly and I will spray everything down with our bear attractants and I made a caramel "jelly" to smear on all of the logs so the bear and raccoons spread the scent all over the woods to draw more bear in.

 

Sounds like a party!

Well, I went out yesterday and today and put up the stand, cut some shooting lanes and put out another lick! I pulled my card on the camera and was a little bummed that I didnt get more pics but here is a basket 8 that came by a couple times. A bunch of does and a fawn so its good to see some movement right now!!

 

How do you get into this contest?

 

I want in! Is it possible? I also hunt in cheeseland; so that may become an issue!

Well I re seeded my one food plot that wasn't coming up yesterday. Hopefully it works out this time. I checked my cameras also. Didn't have a lot of action. Although the one camera I have set up on the edge of a Bean field continues to get a couple of nice Bucks. Hopefully they will stick around for awhile.
