I am in! Just realized this thread was up already. Cant wait for Oct 1. I have not checked my cameras yet this year but should be doing it in a week or 2.
Take a deep breath thru your nose until your tummy expands. Then, breath out forcefully yet slowly thru your nose. Even though we start a little later than some of these states ya'll know we got the this.
Up north here in the state like Fergus and I live we have had a decent amount of rain this summer. The woods and fields up here has been green most of the summer. That is the opposite of the past 2 years. How has it been this summer in central and southern IL?
We've gotten pretty good rainfall in west central IL. Couple weeks ago we had 4-5 inches over the weekend. Everything is looking pretty good. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Awesome to hear. Gonna be doing some public land hunting out your way this Fall. It was really dry down there the last 2 years!
Definitely, last two years were kinda bad. Think the bad thing about this year is gonna be the crops coming out early. But overall should be good year, have been seeing lots of acorns too. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Not sure many of you take advantage of this option in the state, but the link below is to print and mail in an application for an either sex archery tag for $15. It is only available thru tomorrow btw! http://www.dnr.illinois.gov/hunting/Documents/ResidentEitherSexArcheryDeerHuntingPermitForm.pdf
Awesome, thanks rizzo. I thought maybe they did away with this, haven't seen it for a few years now. Living in a Springfield I'm going to try and take it straight to DNR in the morning. Doesn't say whether it must be received by tomorrow or postmarked.
I just walk into the farm supply store around here and buy them, just did it other day actually so I'm all set for the season. Picked up a archery turkey tag too just because ha. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
The reason this is convenient is you get a single either sex, buying OTC you can only get an either sex by buying a combo permit. Saves $11.50 and the need for a 4th archery tag. Can always buy it later if needed.
Yea I saw that after looking at link. Actually didn't know anything about it so it's definitely helpful. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Tail end of next weekend is looking good, should see some nice below normal temps especially on Sunday. I won't be good for a buck until the rut, but last 2 weeks of October are going to be below normal temp wise as well.
