This year has been slow for me as well. My area got plenty of rain and the crops are in abundance so they're able to be pretty picky. I'm forseeing a rough season for me and big bucks. There's so many acorns it's ridiculous and great all at the same time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
here is a link to my facebook album from todays pull. Not a lot of pictures, but still a few nice bucks on cam. Moved one of my cams to the grass lane going around a corn field where I seen a lot of deer coming out of the woods last year. Looks like they have been hitting the corn pretty good so hopefully it catches some good movement. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...910.1073741846.1641545719&type=1&l=f18d4f8a82
Yea, it just doesn't look like he grew any from the previous year though. Wonder if he has peaked or not. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I am trying too. I say trying because at the moment I be sux. I did figure out though that you need a camera arm to get a good shot on camera. The bow mounted cameras are usually very blurry on shot due to vibration and movement. And if possible you need to zoom in. I have one of my first videos I will post if I can find it as an example. Not great but an example of why I say what I say
Yes. But I don't have a lot of choices at the moment as we only have 20 acres and most of that is pasture. I usually let the stand sit a couple of days which works out good because I can usually on do weekends. I usually however wait to shot does in late season after the rut say late Dec. We never gut in the woods but I have seen deer walk right by a pile without a second look. If you have bruiser you are targeting and you don't depend on a freezer of venison I would wait till last few weeks.
Chris, Good luck and I hope she does get her first deer. If you are serious about a hunting buddy let me know. I do not want to leech in on what you have but would be willing to cover cost of seed etc for food plots and will follow any rules you set to the tee if everyone else is amicable. I don't have any land but I can put in some work to help out. And definitely not this year because you have already done most of the work
It is a rush and awesome. Had the opportunity to go to Canada twice so far. This spring with 2 in college probably won't happen but I am gonna try.
I don't have and whitetail mounts because as a teenager I said I would not mount one unless it was bigger than my dads 12. So far no luck there but I do have few exotics. I need to upload some pics and will post a few here. All were taken with a bow I don't hunt with a gun unless my brother is in and then I usually don't shot anything.
This year will be a hard year hunting all together because of moving into my own home but I'd definitely be up for bring another onto the land. Like I said earlier, it always helps to have 2 eyes on the land. I'll have to send you a topograph of the property and show you what the land has to offer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lori and I checked the food plots and trail cameras today. The deer got into one of my bean plots and mowed those bad boys down, so we overseeded with brassicas. And nothing but small spikes and does on the trail cams. BUT still pumped up for season Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just sent a pm to Fitz about the team info. Had a good day on the lake today. We only caught 22 walleye but did catch 2 steelhead. This is the one I pulled in.
The wild grape vines are loaded this year. Can't wait for 3 more weeks to eat them!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lori and I were able to shoot more today. we moved her back to 25 yards and she shot her first bullseye at 25 on the second shot. She's getting better than me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
