Trapper's Hide & Fur Tanning Formula. 8 oz One of the Best Home Tanning Products on the Market You can use that to tan it yourself.. My 2014 deer season has ended here in Maine.. It is the first year I have gone without filling a tag in atleast 10 years.. Very very slow here this year, as I only saw a total of 4 deer. Oh well, the good thing about hunting is that it comes every year! Good luck to the rest of you, get us some points!!
Chris, This is gonna sound gross, cuz it is, but we usually use the brains to tan hides. there are many products on the market today just be sure to read the directions.
Gents, Just checking in. With little over 2 weeks left I can not believe the season is almost over. In January I will put a few more cameras out to take inventory to see who made it through the season. Right now we have little signs of bucks but I was glad to see the big 9 in NC show up on a camera this week. He and 3 unknown bucks showed up on in the pics. All at midnight of course but its encouraging. He should be a stud next year.
Me and Lori are headed to Asheville to see the Biltmore. I, too, can't believe the season is almost over but you still have time to get that big 9. I'm hoping to still be able to get a late season doe or buck with the bow. We'll see if I can pull it off. I'm getting excited to start trapping coyotes and foxes in the off season and I've got a couple winter projects in my head that I'm excited to work on too. Here's the plan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was able to plan all that in about 5 minutes but I think it's gonna take 5 years to complete haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good news boys. Sort of. No buck down but I still am getting bucks on my trail cameras, now feeding in my food plot. They seem to be tending/following doe fawns also. Hopefully I can catch a late season buck like I did last year.
Well boys I hate to say it, but I think my season is at its end. I have not gotten to even step foot on my lease since the 2nd week of November. It sucks, but life has just gotten in the way this year. Just have had too much going on with work and family, which isn't a bad thing I guess. Looking at some big changes in the future that might involve me leaving the land of giants and moving to Texas. So like I said, been a lot going on in life.... Hope every one had a good Christmas and an upcoming new year. Good luck in the rest of your seasons.
I'm right there with you. Been a long huntless season for me as well. What's the reason for the possible move to Texas? Work? There's some Giants there, just a different hunting style. This is my first day out with the rifle. I need to fill the freezer before I can't! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes it would be for work. My uncle has a business there and he is getting close to being done. Only he doesn't won't to sell out, but doesn't have any kids to leave it to. Him and my dad are pretty close and he has offered to keep it in the family if I want to come down there....
Oh man, tough decisions you have in the near future. I can understand wanting to keep it in the family. What kind of business is he running? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He builds and installs big high dollar water filtration/septic systems that purify the water and then use it for sprinklers/lawn care. Also has 3 stores that handle parts and supplies for the systems among other things.
Ooh. Sounds like a pretty hefty under-taking you've possibly got in store for you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It would be. But I'm no stranger to hard work. It's just one of those opportunities that can't be passed up. I'll admit I'm scared sh*tless of it, but you don't get anything in life with out fighting for it and taking a chance....
100% agree with that. Someone had to design/invent it, that means someone had to learn it. So if someone else can learn it, so can you! Good luck with the decision friend! Texas is probably one of the better places to live too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yea, my uncle is actually the designer/inventor of this specific system. He holds the patents to them. So if you are going to learn it, probably no one better to learn it from....
I wouldn't say that. Just don't feel I can go into this with that attitude. I want to work and earn it....
