Good luck tone, we're all hoping you can recover him, not for the team points, but for you to be able to close a chapter on that beautiful buck! Good luck my friend that's a beautiful deer

Well after covering almost 2 miles with the dog I finally had to call off the search. The buck never once bedded down. We had crossed three property lines at that point and I could not get permission to look at the fourth. I got to believe he will live...

All I can do is get back after them come Wednesday. This is the first deer I have lost on the lease in the past 10 years. It was bound to happen, but this one will burn a hole in me for some time to come!

Real sorry to hear that tony. That's a tough one to lose for sure. Hopefully he'll pop back up on trail cams tho!

Miss Lori and I are in the stand now. Hoping to see something. Looks like a promising afternoon. We're excited

Knock one down Chris.... The wife and I came home and jumped in the hot tub. Felt great after the long trek we made today!

In the stand today, kind of breezy, bright, and warm. But already had a doe walk by and i think she is bedded behind me, and had something to my right hop the fence and make some noise, it stopped moving now so can see what it was. Got about 30 or so minutes before day breaks....

    Tony,
I am so sorry you have not found him yet. But keep an eye out they are resilient creatures and he might pop back up in a few weeks. I sucks much not to know but you did all you could to find him and that's all you can do.

This weekend was pretty eventful. While I was at work a dandy decided to spend half the freaking day in from of my treestand last week. I did see 3 yearling does from that stand Saturday morning but nothing else.

Sunday we hunted Chatham county again and I took a doe at last light. The below is a pretty sight indeed.

This weekend I trade the bow in for a gun. Doing the annual deer camp with my brother-in-laws and they wont let me bring my bow. :(

You've had a very good year so far, putting down a lot of deer early. I wish you could rub some of that luck/skill off on me haha. Good luck this weekend

Well boys, it's going to be a long sleepless night for me tonight.. I stuck an absolute monster tonight at 5pm. I shot a 160" last year and he is all of that. I got it on video, and looking at the footage I hit him back a bit, looks like liver shot. I watched him run for about 100 yards then he stopped and walked back into the woods. The blood trail was great when he was running, and petered out to just drops. We left him for the night hoping he lays down and stiffens up. I'll add a couple pictures, the video won't upload for some reason. I'm hoping and praying we find him in the morning!

    Eric,
Good luck brother! I can't tell from the picture but it looks like he is angling away a little if so that deer is toast from the looks of that nock. Just a matter of finding him..

Well after we bumped him we have him time, then slowly took up the blood trail. Followed it probably 85 yards and lost it. Picked it back up but very very spotty. In the mean time he walked directly by my trail camera. And looking at the pics I can't see an exit wound (his left side is showing in pic). We let him go the rest of the day, hoping he will bed up and not be able to get back up. I'll add a pic of the trail cam I took with my cell phone. He's a stud and a half. Not very happy with myself. If I can figure out how, I'll add the video clip of the shot as I self filmed it.

Click the link for the video clip, pardon my French in the video as well. Been a very depressing day for me. Hoping like hell we find him dead in the morning.
