Well I'm 20ft up. Off to a rough start. Woke up with a splitting headache. Forgot my range finder at home. Gas station I stopped at was not taking cards and atm was down so could not buy me a couple bottles of water. Forgot my thermacell and ratchet strap for camera arm in the truck, so no filming this morning. The day can only get better right???

That is what I am hoping. And I am hunting a stand i hunted quite a few times last year so I know my yardages pretty good from it. But I am really missing the thermacell. Skeeters are bad. Figured the cooler temps and rain would knock em down, but nope....
Stay positive. You're hunting and I am sitting through lectures. I am so ready for tomorrow though. Weather is going to cooperate hopefully the hitlisters will too.

Think the weather man stumped his toe on the wind predictions. The direction is right, but instead of 15-20mph, we are getting 30 with 40mph gusts. I have abandoned the tree stand and am sitting on the ground close to a heavily used trail. Will sit till about 10-11 and probably call it a day. Got some stuff to do this afternoon.

I'm a good distance from elk but yeah guys I got sick to my stomach he was number 2 on the list. He still had a little bit of velvet on him. I was wondering why the pics of him stopped.
Heading out today to do a evening hunt on the family farm. We will have the place covered with the four of us located in proven sets. Should be a blast! It will be the first bow hunt ever for my oldest daughter. Her hubby is a hunter and she just got interested in shooting a bow again this past summer.. She hadn't shot a bow since the age of 10. I gave her my back up bow to shoot and she is a pretty good shot. Would be cool to see her and her mom score tonight!
