Here I are. Checking in from VA.

I have 2 counties I hunt where gun season opens before bow so I'll be able to gun hunt on Oct. 1. After that statewide muzzleloader opens on Nov. 1 and the regular statewide gun season opens on Nov. 15. Good luck!

My dad had given it to me as my first gun awhile back, I have never been able to use my rifled barrel until this year so im not sure what shot to choose yet other then a 3.5" slug. As soon as I get my Vortex scope i'll be off to the range to sight it in and hopefully be on within 100 yds

Just my thoughts so take it for what it's worth, there are some really good 2 3/4 slugs out there that may be a little easier on your shoulder. The 835 kicks like a mule and for slugs a 3 1/2 might be a bit of overkill, hell many would say a 12 gauge slug period is overkill considering how lethal 20 gauge slug guns are for whitetails. Again just an opinion I'm sure just about anything will work, I mainly shoot the 3 1/2 buckshot because I already have it but others I hunt with are equally deadly with well patterened 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells out of the same gun.

Why is everyone so quiet? Pitbulls got your tongues? Just kidding No 6!

So, when will everyone be hunting? I'll be heading to Ontario on Nov 5-15 to hunt some deer that have never seen people before. We have an area by our camp that's extremely inaccessible, but we can get in there with a lot of sweat. I'll also hunt Wi during ML season, if we have any decent bucks around.

I will be heading out for gun here in Michigan on Nov 15th and will probably hunt the weekends after that until ML season in Dec.

Thanks to nj my season doesn't open till december. And I can't hunt with a rifle either. so I'll hunt with either my 1187 slug gun or the 1100 with buckshot that I took first 2 deer with.
