Already very very interested in how my hand smells (very pungent from the small amount of arrow I touched). She's extremely good with her nose finding pheasants and knows the command of find after smelling something. I plan on having her smell the arrow and then try to go the direction the deer went. I'll look for blood while she hopefully smells it. If we don't find anything like that I'll circle down wind of the whole field and work our way upwind more or less in a grid pattern Anyone have tips beyond that? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
Illinois os a ****hole, ****thole if it needs to be and a ****holle on the downlow. Never come to IL if you do not already live here. Nothing for you, nothing for us and I'll die a happy man knowing I forget what I said due to my own level of intoxication.
You have the best plan of attack regardless, do your best. That's all you can do. I'm rooting for that dog though, not a better nose on the planet.
I've made enough posts on your team thread as it is, but I'll make one this last one: You and I really need to get together sometime and hunt. That last post tells me it would be a good time for sure.
Dmax4me checking in. Man I checked the thread on Monday at 6:00 AM and we still didn't have any teams and it look like it was going to take another week. I guess the wait is over. September 26 is our opener in Ohio. I let 2 bucks walk last year that should be 140 plus this year. Only time will tell. I have pictures of both of them.
Here are pics of the two this year that were allowed to get another year older. These are from the end of July.
If your having trouble finding her, one other place to check is water. A gut shot deer will go to water and lay down in it. May it be a creek or pond. If a pond, definitely look out in the middle of the pond for a floater. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Wow, that is some nice bucks you've taken over the years. I work in Hagerstown, but live 52 miles north in PA.
I'm about 2 hours or so from Hagerstown. I'm up in the corner were DE, PA, MD all come together. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
You gotta post this track job in the live from the stand thread! Everyone on this site is itching for a good track job.
Well it's not going great so far. Not a lot of blood and the dog is more interested in pheasant hunting than the blood. Called a buddy to get some extra eyes on it. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
And then there were 3. Kinda curious to hear from Shane, wondering how this covid thing is going to affect his season with schooling and such. Not sure what state(s) he'll be hunting either.
That looks promising, but it also looks pretty wet?? Be sure to scan in front of you as well just in case you are pushing her.
