Had a shot at a 4 point the other morning. At the shot my bow sounded funny. It was a sharp angle because I was so high and the buck was almost under my stand, but I thought I made a good shot. My arrow was in the ground so I checked it out with binoculars to see if it had blood on it but it was clean. I waited an hour got down and checked the arrow no blood but there was a tuft of deer hair laying on the ground and no nock on my arrow. I found the nock in two pieces under my stand. It must have been damaged during practice and I never noticed it. I'll be out there in the morning before turkey dinner. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
Well gents, sitting comfy in the stand! I have a buddy hunting about 200 yds away and he just texted me saying there's a few deer heading my way.... Got the camera with me, so nothing gets shot unless it's on film right now, unless of course it's a big buck, stay tuned.....
The last several posts have been quite suspenseful... Did Bob get one? Did you drawback? Answers please!
Haha, I didn't. Bob may have, could've been a buddies, but I'll let him share that... I may have jumped the gun....mike, big buck man!!! Good job. How've you been?
Yes, I got a small four point buck. Monday, I think it was, I missed a four point I was kinda twisted around and thought that was why I missed but my nock on the arrow also broke so I think that is why I missed. Anyway I'm in the same spot Thanksgiving morning, it's funny how your mind talks negative to you, I was telling myself that nothing would be coming I blew my chance already. At 7:30 a four point materializes about 50 yards away following a trail to my stand when it hits my tinks 69 drag line and gets a little fidgety. He knows something is up. When he was looking the other way I stood up, and he is about 25 yards away, I draw my bow and he must have caught the movement because he jumped and ran off another 10 yards and stopped. I let her fly and hit a little far back but I hit him. I was praying it wasn't a gut shot. I climbed down to check my arrow thinking I would go home and come back today but my arrow had no guts on it just dark red blood and blood was everywhere. I knew it was a liver shot, the blood trail was easy to follow and at the end of 100 yards was my deer. The Rage broad head did a number on the liver of this deer. I don't know anything about scoring, I'll probably only get fifty points because the rack is so small. I'll figure that out in a little bit. I've got to go check it in this morning because everything was closed around here on Thanksgiving. This one will be easy to remember it's my Thanksgiving day buck. I also put one of my cameras on the gut pile it will be interesting to see what shows up.
Yessir I am! Just kidding... But congrats again Bob!!! I know you've been putting in lots of time, so much deserved!!!,
Well no deer for me but I decided to end a coyote this morning. Let's see if this pic comes in any better
I've been good gents. I keep an eye in our thread whenever possible even though I don't get on much. My bad. Congrats to some of you guys on your deer and your recent yote.. Tekel.
Drawback strikes again!!! Got a decent doe in the truck bed! Heading to hang her up right now. 23 yds, ran about 40, good shot, got it on film... Gonna edit it and I'll give y'all the link!!!
Hey Brad, you missed a spot behind your ear. LOL How in the world do you film and shoot at the same time? Can't wait to see it! I took the day off today. I've only been getting 4 hours sleep and last night I was having a hard time staying awake at work. I'll be at it again tomorrow!
