    I know, I know.

I always think to myself... I know there are much bigger deer that could come out. Hope I don't kick myself for it!

Helping with youth hunt this weekend. CTO, a Christian based organization, takes kids hunting. They camp all weekend, have bible study around campfire, etc. Please keep the kids and adults both in your prayers for a safe and enjoyable weekend

I'll be honest, I'm really confused about what to do tomorrow. Odd wind (from WNW / NW) is instore for tomorrow before the front. I've seen little sign and 1 deer this season to date in my 2 key spots, but I don't want to screw them up for later. Acorns are so falling good here.

One spot the deer move N/S along fields/draws/creeks but my only shots are really on my E side.

The other, the bedding area is a triangle I can only hunt on the N or West sides. W is River bottom with Oaks, N is open Oaks on the side of a mountain (elevation to the N).

    Options:
1 Gut it out on the N side of the triangle hoping deer come up from bedding on a SW to NE track (and wind is more easterly).
2 Spot on the W side of a big Oak, stream on W just past the oak (deer run N/S), they would be 10yds when downwind. CRP to the south.
    3 New spot

    AAAAAaaaarrrgggg!

Thanks guys! Hopefully that's the spark thatll start the fire and well all start knocking some down! Next time Ill be out is toward the end of next week, me and my dad both shot a deer in the same woods within the same week so I wanna give it a good week to rest. The button buck came in and gave me a 5 yard shot and I had shot it within like 15 seconds of seeing it and after I shot him a doe about the same size was about 10 yards behind him so could have shot her but don't have another doe tag lol. But it was a good hunt now I got meat for the freezer and I can relax and wait on the big boys!

Sounds like a great weekend. Prayers for safety, enjoyment and good fortune.

I was out Monday night and one of the 8 pointers that wander our property went by about 60 yards away. Planning to be out tomorrow to move a stand and then sit until dark. Sunday is full, but will try to be back out Monday afternoon. Fall sports come to an end by Wednesday next week, which should free up a couple more week nights.

    I the stand once again.

Here is the deer I passed yesterday. 15 yards broadside... Hope I'm not kicking myself for passing the shot.

Had a ton of deer come out at last light... None within shooting range. I posted this in the live from the stand thread. What do you guys do when you need to get down and there are deer everywhere in front of you?

Wait usually. Have had it happen where I couldn't even scare them off when I tried tho. Whistling, stomping, clapping... and they just looked around. Finally climbed down and they walked by about 20 yrds just looking at me.

About the size of the 8 I passed tonight. Nothing wrong with him. He gives you a shot again, and you feel it, take it.

Back at it again in the AM boys.

Picked a nice spot this am. Very favorable wind with an additional confirm when the sun came up...

The deer just need to read the script.

Can't wait to see what's at the end of this trail.

Lots of does on the move tonight. Had a nice one feeding in front of me for 15 minutes tonight. Too bad Minnesota is one and done this year. Thought about it though.

Had 2 bucks come out 5 min before last shooting light... The littler one came out first, second one was either the 8 or 10 I've been after. He worked a scrape and then moved into my winter rye and ate at 50yds and walked away.

They have to mess up soon.
