    Good luck tomorrow MGH_PA!

I have to work in Binghamton, NY so I won't be out there until next week.

Again good luck and be safe!

Got rained on for first hour this evening. Froze my butt off from being wet and it was windy. Had a 4pt at 40 yrds, wide open shot into field. Wi d was gusting from 20 mph steady to 40 mph gusts. He got a pass. At least I saw one. Definitely happy about that

Well didn't see but a running doe today. But my dad got a doe who hasn't killed a deer in over 5 years lol. So not bad but in good news I checked my cam which I haven't in a week and found my stands stacked in the evening time. So Tuesday evening I hope to try it and put something down!

Planning on getting out for the first time tomorrow. Hopefully the cold snap will have the deer moving.

Yesterday was a bad day, wind was blowing North, then South, then North... smartest thing I did was stay out of my favorite spot.

I found one nice spot that gave me a nice view of a CRP field and a run, but saw nada.

Upon reflection I did get to enjoy God's spectacular creation... including a bunch of briars in the CRP.

As the sun was coming up, I caught this little guy (walking stick). This just a still of it warming up and moving as it warmed.

    Awesome picture!

How is everyone else doing? What's the plans for the coming up week?

I'll be in the local pro shop Tuesday night and will be in the stand the rest of the week... I need to make something happen. This cool weather has the deer moving like crazy.

Flung some arrows this evening, one of the bows sights were slightly off from falling last week (into poison ivy). Wasn't shooting well at 35+.

Hopefully we can get some sustained cool weather and lose some leaf cover.

Hope to be back out next Sat. Acorns are finally falling good here.

First day (Saturday) was ok. Passed a few 50 pts for us in the AM because the biggest doe of them all was hanging back. Waited for her to present a shot, but she wouldn't. PM sit was windy as all get out, and only resulted in one spike. No Sunday hunting, but checked cams and plenty of activity. Made one mock scrape and will be back out most likely tomorrow for a PM sit.

Other than a few squirrels and the wood ducks raising a ruckus on my grandma's pond, I saw nothing yesterday morning.

I'm hoping to get out at some point next weekend.

Made it out Sunday morn. 1 little buck and 1 doe way off. Hope to make it out again tomorrow AM.

MN - you'll get one man just breathe a little and pick a small spot (patch of hair, crease in skin, etc) before releasing and also concentrate on your follow through. I cant believe you have already had 2 shots at nice bucks...I haven't even seen one yet.

Heading to the pro shop tonight to get some lessons on my form, shoot from a platform, get 6 new arrows, tune the sight better, and to get a few pointers.

What kind of arrows are you guys shooting? I skimped on my last set and want to go with a nicer arrow this time - I know you can't go wrong with something like the Carbon Express Maxima Red's, but want to know what everyone is shooting. Have any suggestions?

Shooting a 2006 Bear Instinct @ 60lbs with Slick Trick fixed heads.

I'm shooting GT Pro Hunters (7595). 125gr Slick Trick Magnums. 426gr total weight. Very happy with them. Was shooting ACC Pro Hunters, and still really like them, but needed to make some adjustments spine wise a while back and figured I would try something new.
