    Deer weren't moving today:(

Back at it in the morning and I will be hunting over two scrapes that are in a pinch point. Gonna hit it until 11 or 12 and then run home for lunch and then back out.......

Two more long days until vacation. Weather looks to be changing for the better even the first day of my vacation. Lets hope it stays that way. Got a 130 class buck coming in in daylite hours and a cpl more I'm hoping will start real soon. Maybe I can get a few more points on the board for us. Good luck to all who are hunting this week :)

Congrats on the buck! Hunted all weekend but didn't see a single deer in the high winds here in WI.

Well the bucks were finally moving yesterday and I seen two 8 pointers. One got within 10 yards so I took a practice
draw on him to get that feeling we all love. It will happen for me just a matter of days. I will be heading out to western, Wi this Thursday with the prediction of at least 140 inches. :-)

It appears I will be hunting in some snow later this afternoon. 3-5 inches is predicted this morning for my moms area out in Western Wisconsin.

Hunted yesterday in the rain, the fields are starting to fill up and become a mud pit. The rain was horrible again this morning so I stayed in. We are gonna have 20-30mph winds today so not looking good. Tomorrow morning will be in the teens and I will be out for a couple of hours but have to catch a plane to Vegas in the early afternoon. I will be back at it again Monday-Thursday then Shotgun season rolls into town:(

I'll be in a tree Friday, planning on sitting all day if the wind stays how it's going to be. If it stays west like they're predicting, I'm going to be hunting in a spot I've been waiting to get into for a while now. Scrapes absolutely EVERYWHERE and a bunch of big buck daytime activity coming through there on the camera. Then Saturday it's gun season. So after Friday I'll be done bowhunting until the 23rd.

Here's the gameplan for Friday. Blue line is entry (going to drag a rag), white dots is where an active scrapeline is, red dot is where the tree I'm going to climb is. There is bedding just to my west.

And here is one of the bucks I'm after that's coming through.

Weirdest thing... I shot that buck this morning and when he ran off he still had the arrow sticking out of him. I walked the blood trail twice looking for it, but no such luck. That's not the weird part tho... I have NO IDEA why he died! When I opened him up, the arrow didn't even go into the rib cage. Didn't touch a single vital organ. The hide on the side where it went in just seperated from the rib cage. I couldn't find anything that seemed like it would have caused him anything more than some major discomfort. Only thing I can come up with is maybe it went along and hit a major blood vessel somewhere, there was a ton of blood on the ground. Lungs were fine, heart was fine and still full of blood. Either that or God just decided to give me a wonderful gift for the first day of my vacation :) Praise Him either way!

Of course the west wind came today and tomorrow is supposed to be straight south. Probably going to duck hunt in the morning and deer hunt the evening. Got many more evening spots for a south wind than I do morning spots.

Sure wish it didn't have to be our FIRST buck we got to turn in for points. I think this one would score a bit better lol! 2nd day of vacation, 2 deer down. Gotta take a break and work the first one up today. Hope everyone else is having a great time out there hunting. Good luck to ya all

rk ... you get 4 mass measurements per side... I would hate to see you not get all the points from your kill
