Great Job guys....Nice to have the points rollin. I haven't been around at all and I apologize..I will be contributing here soon, I haven't been able to get out much (2 weeks since my last sit)....Weather changing rapidly here in Northern WI. I'm really looking forward to the wind switching up here...1 1/2 weeks of southern wind is not my favorite...

I wont be out till Wendesday. I will be hunting that night, but the next 4 days I will be filming my sons first deer hunt. Hopefully he wont need all 4 days to fill his 2 tags.

Was going to hunt tomorrow evening but they're calling for rain so I'm just going to wait until Wednesday evening. Hunting Friday evening, all day Saturday, and maybe Sunday too. Trying out some public ground with a buddy over the weekend. Any one have any luck over the weekend?

You can bow hunt during those gun seasons in WI man! I shot a doe with my bow (of course while dressed in blaze orange also) Friday evening amongst the baldy gun hunters. Amazingly, my Dad and buddies were gun hunting and got nothing while the bow hunter connected! Luck was on my side. Friday night was the windiest night I have ever been in a stand. Each of them saw 10+ point bucks while doe hunting. One of the guys drinks a ton of coffee and pi$$ed off of his stand. He had 2 bucks walk up to his ladder stand and check the area out right below him. He said both of them just walked off after about 5 minutes each.

Here in the next 1-2 weeks I will start seriously buck hunting. Corn is being picked in the area rather quickly mixed with the cooler weather and shorter days....better hunting around this area is coming quickly! Hopefully, we will have even more point rolling in.

It is pretty funny that the other guys in my group only saw bucks during this ridiculous Oct gun season for antlerless deer in WI. During the regular gun season those same guys will NOT see a single buck, but will see only does! Good luck guys.

Looking like it's going to be below 60 with a NW wind Wednesday evening for the hunt. I'm planning on hunting where the red dot is. The big field I'm by was beans that just got harvested. The deer traditionally start coming out about an hour until dark from all over the field. I'm going to be trying to catch them coming from one of the most used bedding areas (block of timber to south) and crossing a high point in a slough along the river. We'll see what happens, I'm really excited to see what this hunt has in store.

Thanks. I really wish I could get out in the AM. It's been raining here all day today and is gonna break tonight and not start back up until tomorrow late morning.. Temps in the low 40s, I bet they'll be on their feet. I got confidence in tomorrow evening too though.

I believe I was a day off and should of went out Monday. The high winds kicked in yesterday and the cold, so they were hunkered down.

Planning on going out as soon as these high winds and rain calms down. As Tony stated above, they are hunkered down, but will be moving once this weather breaks. I have only been out once during the IL season so am getting anxious to get out around here even though my deer sightings are rare on the properties I hunt!

Good luck when you guys get out again.

My friend and I are going out to try and get him a doe on film. He seems to have the worse luck when it comes to does, so no promises

Well done with my 9 oclock class.. Gonna wait to eat lunch at 11 then sneaking in to the spot in the above post. Hasn't been gun hunted in a couple years and hasn't ever been bow hunted. Landowner and his son used to see some big bucks cruising through in the evenings to get to the field so we'll see what happens. I like the cold, just wish it wasn't so windy.

Hey guys....no luck here yet although my time has been very limited as I'm in the process fo moving and starting a new job, but I have off October 27 through November 6 and its all devoted to bowhunting. That should be prime time for the searching/chase phase here in MN.

Well no blood shed but it wasn't because I didn't have opportunities. Ended up getting to the spot I wanted to hunt about 1:45 only to find that it was way too grown up to hunt until it was brushhogged. Lots of deer sign, including a couple rubs which is rare for this property to be out in the open. Ended up going to the very opposite end of the slough and was climbed up about 2:15. 3:05 had 5 turkeys come through that I passed, at 4:00 two more turkeys came (these two were BIG gobblers) and they got a pass too. Had two does and a fawn come through that I passed at 4:20. Then at 6:00 I had a little 1.5 year old 8 come right underneath me and hang out for a while. He's going to be a stud in a couple years, he keeps showing up on trail camera too. Saw another unidentified cross the slough about 100 yards away at 6:05. I thought a big boy was gonna pop into the slough at any minute. I can't wait to hunt that spot again, I think it'll only get hotter once the bucks have does more on their mind. The slough is in between a LOT of corn and a 40 acre sanctuary/bedding area.
