Should have gotten us 50 more points this AM.. Got busted while drawing on her. Would have drawn earlier but I was busy trying to mess with the video camera. Still got this evening and tomorrow morning though. Now off to brush some duck blinds..

It was an interesting morning guys:ninja:

I walked in almost a mile to my stand and I was 200 yards away when all hell started blowing. Think I jumped to Doe Train so I made a split second decision to go another half mile to a stand that another guy that hunts with us has. Things started off slow once I got into the two man ladder stand but around 7am I heard a thwack and a Doe came running from an open field edge to the North and died 20 yards from my stand. Never have seen another guys deer die on my turf while in stand, strange.

Within a half hour of Dead Doe action I had small groups of does and fawns move in behind the stand within shooting distance. Trouble is that the area behind the stand had no shooting lanes:mad:

I did have a small 4 pointer come down the field edge and walked 15 yards from me. He has the same distinct rack as a much older deer on the property. I took a couple of pics of him and he looked up once but the Ultimate Camo kept me hidden. All in all it was an interesting morning with a lot of deer but none on the ground from my arrows:( Here is the Dink

Well, it was a great start to my season today. got in the stand and all setup. At 8 am i had 2 does walk straight toward me, from a thicket. I grab my bow. the bigger of the 2 walked towards my right (toward a corn field) she stopped at about 32 yards, i drew back and let the arrow fly. I thought i missed her, with her reaction and hearing the arrow hit the leaves behind her.

So i'm sitting pissed off for about 30 mins, then i see more movement in the thicket. It's a buck, not a hit lister, but a nice looking 6 or 8. didn't get the best look. Watched him walk off, i think he jumped another deer, because i saw a doe run off. after 40 minutes of no activity, i decided to get down and grab my arrow. to my surprise the arrow head was full of hair. I searched the ground and found some dark blood. I saw where she ran off so i followed her path. she ran into the corn field. I checked the stalks and there was a bunch of blood. this got me really excited. i walked in about 20 yards, and didn't see the bloodletting up. tons all over. i steped out and let her sit another 45 mins. went to my father in laws blind. and warmed up a bit.

we packed up our gear, and went to the field. walking in slowly, we fol lowed the blood, till we find her laying in the field.

Congrats on the Doe, you guys are on fire!

I stayed in this morning. The other three guys that hunt the property went out leaving me with little stand choice. Considering the wind, the only area worth hunting would be a no go and I didn't want to bump the deer again. I will be out this afternoon while they are all crying over another Bears loss:rock: I am hoping that the other hunters and hunters on neighboring properties have the deer bedded directly behind where I will be.

Congrats on first bow kill!!! Excellent job! I had a doe and yearling come in, momma winded me but the yearling came 6 yrds in front of my stand. DEAD! Didn't want to chance letting it walk and not getting momma either. It's still 50 pts, and will be oh so tasty and tender :D

I was hunting public land in Clark County Wisconsin. I found a tree in the oaks just on the edge of some thick small trees that bordered a swamp. Around 6:45pm this doe came in and I was fortunate to get it on video. This is the first year of using a camera and this is the first deer I have ever killed on video. In the video you will see that I shot her in the spine so I turned off the camera for the follow up shots.

I hope I got this entered correctly for team points... I went to Official Scorecard Thread and posted 2 pics with bow, time and date of kill, and team number. Is that right?

Wow! I was away from the computer this weekend and you guys went NUTZ slaying the does!!

I got out Saturday PM and Sunday AM hoping to get a glance at Cyclops, a really nice 165"+ buck that I have been chasing for 3 seasons. Well, I believe he is gone...and so are most of the deer from the property I hunt. I got to the land around 2:30 Sat and found only one set of tracks along a bean field that is typically just covered with deer. With rain falling every day last week I expected to see more sign. Kinda depressing especially since I have not set foot on that property since 8/4. I did scout another property yesterday that we got access to this year for gun season. After talking to the owner I now have access for archery, too. It is basically only a 120 acre rectangle field, but borders McHenry County Conservation District land on one side and a tree nursery on the other side. I'll be hanging a stand tonight along the conservation side and I placed a camera along the nursery side yesterday.

Jason, I might try to do some of that backyard hunting over by Carpentersville soon if this new property does not produce any deer sightings!!
