Just got settled in the blind. I'm pretty pumped. Camera shows at least 2 of my hit list deer yesterday in shooting light. Hoping they will be back today. Good luck guys!

Shot a big buck right at dark. Deer ran a pretty good ways across a bean field after the shot. I found my arrow broken in half and covered up to the nock with blood with some bubbles. Shot looked far back to me. Maybe I got one lung. I'm backing out until morning. I'll post pics of arrow soon as I get home.

Here's hoping for a good recovery! Which end of the arrow did you find? Pass through and bottom half, or upper half? Quartered away? Bubbles are good! I bet you find it no problem! Should be plenty cool enough to night too, if your weather is like mine.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Shot was broadside at 32 yards. Deer ran about 200yds across a bean field before starting to walk. His tail was flickering when I lost site of him.

Sounds like liver to me. Good blood on the arrow. Looks like you should have 2 holes. Where was the entrance on an up down plane?

Looks like you should have a dead deer in the morning. Good luck with the recovery.

Had a second chance at that 7 again last evening. Couldn't get him to break away from the doe he was harassing.

Well it's not going good. From the spot I found my arrow, I lost blood after 100 yds into the next cut bean field. It was only a drop or two about every 10ft.

With blood like that it's just a matter of finding him. I bet it laid down somewhere not to far away. I'm sure you'll get him

Don't have anybody to help. It's about 250 across this field. The deer could have gone 3 different directions. Path in line of travel would put him going into some backyards then across a road. Left is across another road and into another cut bean field. Does anyone know of a tracking dog in NE Ohio? I can only find one in southern Ohio and he can't come today.

You have blood for that far? What is the visibility like in the field? Can you be sure it's not just laying in the field?
    What is the white strip?
I'd look real close in the field edges, and check any water near by.

Initial reaction was that it was far back. Was expecting gut shot but have dark red blood soaked arrow. The white stuff is lime.
