Firearm season starts here tomorrow. Bow hunting is usually tough from tomorrow on out. Is that the same in other states?

Tough? In what way? As in the deer all freaked out from the orange army and the BLAM BLAM BLAM all around?

Yeah I saw a stud on my way home from work last night down the road from my house. He was in the middle of a field going after a doe.

Shotgun season has never really impacted me. The deer actually have changed their routes some to move more through my woods than in the open field. Also, most gun hunters don't hit it as hard as bowhunters. They only go on the weekends or week nights.

I have an hour drive each way to work and love my BBC world news. They were talking to some Toronto reports about this guy. I'll give him credit, he knows how to party! Him and Charlie Sheen would be a good time lol

Bwahahahahaha! That took me by total surprise and I about choked on my coffee! Lol.

I saw another big buck this afternoon...good grief, I don't know what's going on around here but apparently I shot the smallest mature buck in the area, lol. We have had some great deer in past years but nothing like this year...WTH happened to the deer and antlers this year?! ANd all these new deer I never had on camera...it's like new giants are materializing from another dimension or something...and I'm stuck in a combine....gah....on second thought I guess I'd rather be making money under the circumstances, lol.

Lol you know what guys. Honestly. And I mean this with 100% politics and municipal policy considered. Ford is the best mayor this city ever had and I swear on my kid I would vote for him if he ran for prime minister. I swear to god.

Out it this way. This city 3 years ago was in such a deficit it was unbelievable. The city now is literally almost out of debt, he reduced the debt by something crazy like 90 something percent. He doesn't take **** from anyone and he's not a corrupt pos like all other politicians. For example mayors are given a driver. It costed the city $80,000 a year. He said why not just lease me a Mercedes? He did that and it costed the city $8000 a year. Fire department had a budget and police that allowed them literally new engines every single year???? Why??? He cut that out. The departments need to get permission now before they can make any purchases over x amount.

So because he is cutting all the fat and a lot of people who get government money who are so used to stealing no longer can. Are getting pissed. And they have not left him alone since. Last yesr they were calling him a crook. Saying he coaches a high school football team. And he rented them a city bus to drive them to a game???? Omg how dare he use a bus that's sitting and costing me tax money anyways. What a sick sob lol like seriously.

Now his crack video. Ya he admitted to smoking crack. He's a idiot for that yes. But if his biggest fault is hitting the pipe but makes the best decisions for the city that drives this entire country. Ill buy him his crack for life. Just keep up the good work. Like seriously.

Media has been hounding this guy. He can't take a dump without media taking a picture. Again because a lot of people want to get rid of him. Lobbyists are going no where with him and again want him gone. There used to corrupt pieces of **** who take pay cheques under the table. This guy is the best politician ever and only honest one. But yes he has one fault. He likes to booze and hit the pipe.

I deleted rest of my post, didnt want to get into American politics. I know that's a sensitive topic.

A lot of truth in that post!

I disagree with Clinton though, the only thing Clinton did that was a star on his score sheet was he finally got the message and moved politically toward the center (eventually) instead of being so hard core leftist. The political atmosphere at the time had him roadblocked from carrying out his leftist agenda he so wanted and he still managed to cause a lot of trouble with the Community Reinvestment Act (ACA) in 1995 that actually started the snowball that eventually turned into the home mortgage crisis in 2008'ish.

Clinton was dragged kicking and screaming into fiscal responsability by Speaker Gingrich and republicans standing their ground in the government shutdown...which was what should have happened at least twice with Obama so far but R lack the backbone they had back in the 90's....and lack senate control obviously.

The truck is loaded down and I'm hoping to be out of work in time to hit the stand for an hour or 2. Then it's back in the morning. Tomorrow afternoon and all day Sunday it's looking like heavy rain.

It looks like I will be able to hit it tonight (pending) and tomorrow morning. After that the rain will be heavy. Monday would be a sweet day but I'll be at my desk at sunrise... Unless I hit the lottery. Then I'll be in the stand for sure.

Checking in, fellas. I am so frustrated right now. Today is the first day I won't go out to look for my deer, which I am convinced is laying dead. I have put in close to 30 hours looking for him and it just isn't going to happen. He ran into 40 acres of the thickest, nastiest hedge possible where you cannot see more than 10 yards at a time. I have probably walked past him at least once at this point. I was finally able to get some help yesterday from a few guys and we went in and grid searched...nothing. Checked all the major and minor water sources...nothing. Dogs are illegal anyway, and the neighboring property owner where the deer ran who has very graciously been letting me romp through his sanctuary looking for this deer said he would prefer not having a dog come look. I am convinced a dog would have found this deer. This is two years in a row that I have messed up a shot on a 150-160" deer and am really feeling the pain. Going to be taking 7-10 days off from hunting just to clear my head and spend time with the family. It sucks for the contest but it really sucks even more for my psyche. Anyway, I will start checking back in when I start hunting again.

too bad man. My biggest lost animal was a trophy black bear. We have all done it don't worry, and if we haven't, we will. I lost a monster 500lb easy black bear. I thought I smoked him, we followed a red carpet for like 600 yards into a swamp. We searched around that swamp 100 times trying to find blood or a track of him coming out of the swamp. Nothing! We went back and forth on a canoe to see if it was in the water. Nothing!

It happens man, chin up. Get back on the stand asap don't miss out on the rut. You will kick yourself for it and you will feel better and forget that buck when you plug another one.

Like Drago said, I wouldn't take 7-10 off if you can help it. You'll really kick yourself if you can't find a deer then miss the rut. Sucks on the deer but you busted your butt trying to find him. Nobody can fault you for not trying. You gotta get back on the horse though and shake this one off. It looks like a good hit.
If you do take a couple days off, don't beat yourself up, but think about something you can change to keep it from happening again. Was there anything in common...?? Just see if there's something you can change to keep from not finding one again.
