Keep in mind there are probably a lot of teams that have points that aren't posted yet. We're still doing fantastic and are a definite contender at this point.

I'm concerned about member participation at this point, it may be impossible to get a doe from every team member. We may be lucky if they all actually follow up with the deer they do take from the looks of it.

Heck I don't know...I've lost track of even how many members we have that we don't hear from at all. It's not a ton but a few really hurt even talking 150 points each for a small buck and a doe.

It sucks that we can't replace members or submit extra deer to cover for no-shows.

I don't think I would actually be for replacing members because they may have good intentions and just be busy and show up late and even have deer to submit late. I don't have a beef as long as they would at least check in once in a while. Some do and they are fine as far as I'm concerned.

Not trying to be a smart @$$ and I say this with all due respect but all for fun is a copout and I get tired of hearing it. It's like being told to shut up that it's not important at all. It was important enough to be requested to be placed on a team...it is important enough to at least remotely follow along and if they don't then to allow their spot to be filled with other deer.

Hey guys, sorry about the absence. I have literally been hunting non-stop for the last two weeks. I will enter my doe tonight.

I shot a really good buck last night but the shot was high. I tracked him 730 yards today and was still on blood when I ran out of light. Going back in the morning to look again. It is a 1 lung hit and he will score in the 150's. Pretty bummed about the shot but it was at 8 yards and I just hit too high and caught the offside lung.

Hey! Good to see you check in! Thanks for the update but sorry to hear about your buck, I hope you find him. That stuff happens and especially at short yardages it's hard to allow for for no arch when everything in you is screaming to aim on the dot and not low. My buck was walking and wouldn't stop so I pulled ahead a bit and let it go and got a double lung but hit further back than I intended just because of him taking a half step...luckily it turned out just fine but accidents happen fast and easily. Sounds like you have a good chance of finding him though.

    Good luck!

It's been 730 yds of this: can't believe he hasn't bedded down yet and I even left him overnight so I know I didn't push him [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

He's dead somewhere... Probably under some brush...

Your doe entry needs time and date also in the contest thread

Oh man that sucks but if he's lung shot he'll probably not make it.

    I sent you PM BTW.

Got the entry fixed with time and date. Man I could use some help but I can only look until 9:30 tomorrow and then have to be at work. So I will get about 3 hrs in the morning and then I will have about 2 hours before dark to look again. Thanks for the offer...if it was the weekend I would welcome someone to help me search!

I'm probably not within a reasonable distance anyway, I'm over around Ft. Scott KS.

Thanks for entering the doe! Hey that Spyder is a work of art...very cool! Gotta love Hoyts!!!!!

Hunt around Lawrence myself. I love the Hoyt...first new bow I have bought in 5 years and it fits me like a glove.

Yeah that's not too bad but it's quite a drive from here...maybe 2.5 hours. Half that distance and/or a 200" deer and I wouldn't give it a second thought, lol.
Hope you find that stud, keep us in the loop! Maybe you'll walk straight to him in the morning.

Same with my Element, first bow I've bought in ten years or shot in three but it's great. They make fantastic equipment.

I'm glad your back cunningham. Good job on the buck. Based on those pics, that much blood after 700 yards if you didn't hit lungs you must have hit a artery for him to drop blood like that that far. Usually poor shots your finding dots and drips of blood. Not covered leaves like that one.

Get in their tomorrow I wouldn't doubt he's dead. Good luck. Keep us posted hd make sure to get two pics

So it turns out I am nuts and second guessing myself for nothing. When my buddies arrived they thought my dear was more than 126 1/2. When they all measured they came in the same as me maybe high by 1/2". So I re measured after everyone left and got same. So anyone who has a issue can come to my house themselves and measure. This deer is 126 1/2 all day long. I'll post it now
