    Well here it is.

I got a text of my 10 point I was chasing. Turns out he was put down this morning by a neighbour. No not the thief, this is opposite side. He texted me the pic and I knew it was him. So while in the stand my heart just sank. Thinking I probabaly wouldn't see another mature one like that from this stand. Before I could look up I heard all kinds of shuffling. I look over and see coyotes running circles around me. 4 of them. I was like wow great, I'm for sure going to see deer now. I smoked one of them, and the others were out of their faster then light.

I was kinda excited about that but literally before I sat back down I turned around and this nice 8 point steps out. In the worst spot possible, behind my tree at about 25 yards. He is walking across the back of my tree somewhat quartering away from me. He stopped to freshen up a scrape and licking branch which gave me time to turn all the way around to my right of the tree I'm in. Don't you love turning right as a right handed bow hunter LOL my harness wrapped around my neck like a noose and all. Finally he stopped again in a opening, I ranged him at 45 yards. I knew this was my shot because he was just about to head into a thick brush where I won't see him again. I drew and let the arrow fly. Smoked him right behind the armpit. The Rage extreme made a mess. He was really easy to track, but crappy part I was alone. So I had to drag this sob about 400 yards to my truck. Lets say I was spent after that. Being so down about my 10 pointer who scored 157 by the way pics to follow. I saw this 8 point and said the hell with it he had a huge body, mature deer. Can't ask for much more than that. Especially considering this my property where stands and cameras were stolen from. So I have no trail cam pics and use climber every time. Almost like hunting public land. I was happy with this buck. He grossed 126 1/2". I'll post all the measurements later. Here are some pics. Don't mind the gross facial hair, I"ve been living in the woods lately lol

Oh, once everything is posted, that puts us at 775 points, we're going to need to nearly double that to win I think. I foresee some high scores this year.

    Great work so far guys!

Thanks guys. Yes it is cold. Remember I said on Sunday Tuesday was gonna be a killing day. I caked this guy and neighbour got that ten pointer 10 mins before.

Last two days were around freezing but were windy like nuts. Today the skies cleared, wind died but it was-10 Celsius this morning. Whatever that means in American lol. So I knew it was gonna be a good day. But then my spirits were crushed for a short while. But I really didn't hae time at that point to cry or crap myself lmao

so is this the property where you said all the deer had disappeared from the cam pix and all the pix you had been getting were of coyotes?

Fantastic job! Proof that persistence and patience pays off!

No that property your referring to is my own. Where I actually live. Now I have no tags left for this property so I'm going to focus on my house. I have one tag for home that's doe or buck

Nice job bro!!! Wooohoooo!!! Smoked that bad boy, great shot and great deer! They ain't nothin wrong with that deer...nothin..he's a beauty!
That sucks donkey butt about your big ten pointer...Hope the neighbor chokes on it, lol. You made the best of it though so congratulations!

How hard is it going to be to double our score....jeeze. I would make a hell of a dent in it if I could enter more deer, lol. I still have monsters running around here but some of the residenters are getting busted up from fighting. I got one of the studs on camera where I set the new stand the other night in KS.

    Good job again Chago!

Last years winner was 1200 I believe. That's 100 points per guy. Plus Cunningham and buck hunter have about 180 more points combined. We're not far away.

I have some buddies coming over for beers shortly. We're gonna re measure together. After looking through the contest other 8 point deers in the 120's look bigger than mine??? Is it just me?? I didn't realize but mass scores score big. My deer has some good mass. Now I'm being like you covey and want to re measure lol. I don't want to hear any *****ing if I'm over by 1" lol. Cause that would be fair more cheating then posting a road kill.

Ha...there's no need in not counting what's honestly there and nothing wrong with squeezing a score for all it's worth without cheating.

First of all Congrats on a great Buck and a great story! Couldn't be happier for you! Secondly you can't compare these southern deer to one from your area. The bigger body size on yours makes the rack look smaller in comparison to the smaller southern deer. That's why it may look smaller to you.

Also that's one heck of a entrance hole. Perfect shot!

I'm in the stand in the morning. Using a vacation day cuz I've got that feeling about tomorrow. Temps are going to be in the teens and very light north wind. Time to go collect my prize[IMG]
