Never mind I just saw your score card. The pics make him look way bigger.

Excuse me while I go take a dump in my tree stand lmao

Hey Brent, unfortunately symmetry counts a LOT when officially scoring the deer.
However, this contest uses gross scoring, so everything he grows counts. Official scoring also has a 6 month shrinkage before you can score them to qualify for B&C.

So it looks like we need add some scores to the thread for Mr. Fitz:

    1. Brent - Doe and Buck
    2. Steve - Figure out the correct score
    3. Cunningham - Doe

That puts us at 697 + whatever BH's buck which I believe to be 141 ish so roughly 838 once everyone as everything shot so far posted.

That said, I'll try and get a hold of the other guys that haven't posted their deer on the scorecard or haven't posted a while in general.

Thanks Copper D!! Hope you get one soon buddy!

Chago, tell me about it. I was a tad disappointed when I scored him as I thought he was bigger.(170 in my mind lol) but I guess we were good photographers. ;)

If you look at my scorecard, it took me a minute to figure out that the column above deductions labeled "subtotal" is actually the total gross score. Once I figured he was 122 (gross) instead of 115 ( net) I was happier. With that brow he would have been 126 n change gross. Boo

Exactly. Every point should be measured where it intersects the tine it grew out of. Add them all together. Take the 4 circumference measurements from each side plus the widest measurement inside spread and add them all together. Any tine or kicker/sticker at least one inch should be measured. The total of those measurements is your score. No subtracting necessary. This contest is for gross score. The calculators are giving you a net score deducting for symmetry.

Ok guys, I have emails or PMs sent to people that need deer posted or that just haven't posted in a while.

I didn't get to go out this morning but I did go pull my card and wouldn't you know it there was a 130+ inch ten that came in and checked the scrape I had the cam hung over at 7:40 am. So frustrating! I will be there Wednesday morning and I hope he is too. We'll see.

Thanks for asking. So far good. I've had a lot of good pics from the new property. I've really been happy with the way the land has shaped up. You know its going to take some time for me to figure out how the deer are moving across the place but I'll get honed in soon enough. I've spent a lot of time trying to help my 8 yr old in front of one. I think if I can slip in there Wednesday morning I may have a good chance. I've had two different big bucks on camera in morning daylight since last Wednesday. Here's one of em. [IMG]

Yeah that's what I thought I did, I added everything he had together and did not subtract anything from the total. Besides that I didn't count one of the stickers because it was right at an inch and I figured just to be safe I'd leave it off. If 1 inch counts then he has another legal point....technically speaking.

Okay so here's the non-typical sheet filled out online with the other inch sticker counted:

Okay so the final "gross" should be 144 5/8 with the column 4 total (2 6/8) added back to it? Column 4 is the difference column..
So total is actually 147 3/8?
    144 5/8 + 2 6/8= 147 3/8 ?????

Here's really the only pic where I tried to shoot the stickers but it should have been a little more well done.

I really hope you get this deer. I'm a big fan of it. He's got a great body and I like the way his rack looks.

HAha, sorry, I'm not trying to rub it in....I just want to be sure there are no flaws so if (when) something gets disputed then I'll have a logical response ready. Not much I can do if I made a stupid mistake and someone catches it after it's posted in the score thread. I want every inch he has to count but I don't want to score it incorrectly either.

147 3/8 is the correct score. No doubt about it. I'd go ahead and post it.

    Awesome, thanks so much!
Yeah I was just looking other score sheets over in the score thread and there's at least one I saw with abnormal points tha twere added to the total and there were no deductions. After looking at that I was almost ready to just post mine and be done with it. I know it's right, I've done about everything I know to do and have had others look it over and agree so I'm going with it.

Thanks:) If I can somehow kill that deer my first season on this new property I would be so happy. Hell, I'd be happy to kill a deer like that anytime anywhere but on something I own just makes it that much sweeter.

One of the greatest things in life, hope you get him!

My buck is posted in the score thread. I hope I don't come in here in the morning and find two pages of people picking out stupid crap and complaining....I halfway expect someone to insist on me taking more pics of the stickers with a tape on them to prove they aren't make believe....I don't really intend on driving 40 miles to the taxidermist to take those pics. I have most of them covered in the pics but they are hard to see clearly. I really thought I had better pics of those but it was shady there where he dropped and it was getting warm so I was kinda in a hurry to get him loaded (by myself) and get him out of there and dressed.
