Thanks, yeah he was an awesome deer, took him to the taidermist yesterday and picked a freaking awesome form and pose, going to be the coolest mount on the wall so far....I'm pumped! I'm sort of sorry for the team and contest that I didn't hold out for OMG! for my contest buck but I knew I would hate myself the rest of this week (and probably year) for not taking Spirit like I had promised myself I would given the opportunity. I don't know if another 40-60 points would make that much difference to the contest anyway for our team. There's also far from any guarantee that I ever even see OMG again...I know the landlord really wants to take him also. I'm happy enough to take a big old mature deer anyway.

    Lol X10!

Hey guys, if you could take a look a this and let me know if it's accurate.

Basically I went through our entire thread and the score card thread (don't tell my boss).
This is actual taken vs. on the scorecard.

If you think there is a discrepency please let me know. I'll work on the guys that have not posted theirs and check up with the guys that aren't regulars.

Looks okay to me but I could have missed something also.

I need to get mine posted in the score thread but waiting on Fitz to approve it through PM and don't know if he's even going to mess with it or not. At some point in the very near future, I think I'm just going to go ahead and post it and hope I don't get my a$$ chewed on again for some mistake.

the only mistake you made was posting buckhunter's 'questionable' score. you didn't score it!

how many times did you score yours blind? do it once. hide that paper and do it again... are they reasonable similar? if so, proceed with posting it...

I think you posted it for us... I'll try to find it and run through it this evening...

well, I think you made a math mistake in column 2... here is how it ciphers electronically...

    brentscore.jpg

139 2/8 is your gross (subtotal before deductions are subtracted)

looks like you added the 'junk' that you were suppose to subtract or the net...

the contest is looking for gross... so...

if it really has that much junk you might want to do it non-typical and check the differences...

in fact, now I gotta go back and look at the pix...

I scored and rescored it at least three times and five counting the B&C calculator but that calculator is way off and I can't see the error in mine or the calculator....but something is off with one or the other. I've been over my numbers and math and it comes out the same every time. The online calculator is the reason I'm so paranoid, how the hell does it cut off almost 8"????? That's with the deductions added back on too.
Yep, it's posted around here somewhere, a page or so back...thanks.

I've used it and it comes out way short so something is FUBAR'ed somewhere. I wanted human eyes to find the problem and explain to my where the problem is (if there is one).

Yes I added the "deductions" back on....that is gross score is it not? Subtracting them would give the "net score"?
You probably can't see the junk on it, the stickers are on the back of the main beans a bit above the bases, I think one was in front and one was actually just at an inch so I didn't even count it. One on my sheet is actually a G4 on the right main beam but I counted it as an odd point in column E because there isn't a matching one on the other side.

Well I guess I see how it's supposed to work now but it's a crock of BS. How unfair to an animal to simply not count points that were grown...jeeze. Thats gay....I always thought the deductions just weren't subtracted from the tally in a gross score so that's why I did what I did with this one. Column 4 is a total cluster ****.....why not count inches because it's different from corresponding points on the other side...SOaB.

Okay so I found a calculator for non-typical scoring and it's better but they still rickydo the animal out of total inches because of symetry in Coulmn 4...that is soooo gay....someone needs an @$$ kicking over that crap. Gross score in my mind means counting everything that's there not ignoring a few differences from side to side...that's just a beauty in symetry score.

I mean it is what it is but it's just so stupid, gah...

Gross score on the printout sheet for non-typical came out 144 5/8....I can live with that but it shorts what is actually there by like three inches (I counted the inch sticker that I did not count before.)

    PS,
The stickers are visible (barely) in this pic:

Covey for the tournament is gross. So basically everything it grew. The reason your net is coming lower on the calculators is because not o ly does it substract the kickers but it also minuses the non symmetrical inches. So if left g2 is 8" and right g2 is 6". Your deducted 2". Basically you double the smaller side in your net score. Make sense?

Is that net?? I would have expected the gross much higher. He looks really really tall.
