wow nice deer Brent. That is a tank.

Yes stickers count. If you go onto the contest thread, the biggest deer so far is a 163 I believe. He posted the official scorecard and it counted all stickers, anything over 1" I believe is the rule. In gross scoring you count everything. In the net you deduct all non symmetry points and kickers/stickers.

Well as I have mentioned we have had a awesome time at our Farm Hamilton Region. Me and a partner share the permission. He killed a 155" 8 point, just a beast!!! on October 3. Then you remember the post I put up of a guest we brought out who smacked that wide 10 pointer. I have yet to get mine but I have seen that gorgeous 10 pointer three days in a row in the same tree.

Had a question for my house though. Remember I hunt solo behind my house as well. I normally have some great deer pics this time of year. They showed up as I previously posted and some nice ones too. But they stopped all at once. I checked the cameras when I got home today and I have had 3-4 large coyotes on my plot eating the pile of apples, 4 days straight???? Now I know coyotes are there major predator, but would be bucks move all together because of these bastards? I did a huge coyote murder when I moved in. I get the occasional pic of one here and there. But never like this, 4 days straight around 430am???

I don't mind going in there with the fox pro and murdering these bastards, mind you some look like german sheppards how big they are (remember I'm in Canada where we have wolves too). I was afraid if I went in there guns blazing I will push the deer away and ruin the season?

    Any thoughts?

    Brent again awesome awesome deer.

Chago, if all you're getting there are pics of yotes then I'd try to take some of them out and to hell with any consequences. If they are keeping the deer chased out anyway then I doubt you'll do any more harm.

Guys, check this score over and make sure I didn't screw something up...please, I don't want another debacle like last time! The last few I had scored were done at the taxidermist, I never bothered trying to do it myself, the nearest 1/8 inch is odd or maybe I'm over complicating it?

Why didn't you had the g4 on one antler. You entered E. It looks over 1" to me. Looks like at least a couple.

Yeah it's 3" long actually but the directions said any odd points that aren't replicated on the other side goes in category "E" so I put it there. If "E" gets added on for gross then it's still in the total.

All I can do is check your math... I have no experience scoring to even pretend to know the rules.

Nice. Well I'm going after that 10 pointer tomorrow again. I can't sleep because of this deer. It's one thing to dwell on that monster deer you saw once. I've seen this bastard 3 times lol. If he comes through again behind brush and crap I'm gonna jump down and chase him I swear lol.

If we can get our team to enter all its scores we got about 400 points not being accounted for. Covey doe which will be cou Ted now. Cunningham still hasn't come back to life. Your deer of 145. And buck hunter has about 140ish himself.

    Haha, yep!

That's okay on the checking math. Once you guys go over it and approve I'll sent it to Fitz and have him check it before I post it. This is my new three tier approach, lol.

Chago....I'm going to laugh my butt off if that big ten gets away and five minutes later a bigger twelve walks in and you put the smack down on him!

Oh I forgot Jared's buck too. Holy boys were in the mix. Top 5 easy. We need buckhunter and Cunningham to respond. Hug amount of points.

Covey seriously I don't want a bigger deer. I want him. This is now personal lmao.

Just remember... U have to kill him with an arrow... If you jump out of the tree and kill him with a knife Rambo style, it won't count! Lol!

Awesome deer Brent! Congratulations on a stud. You definitely get to count all tines and sticker points. Its a gross score so the entry would be 145 and change. Great job!
I've been getting daylight pics for the last couple of days so I'm going to camp out in this stand for the rest of the weekend. Went out tonight and had 3 does feed around for an hour or so. Going back in the morning and ill be back out Monday morning again if I don't get it done between now and then.
Here are a couple of recent pics from a couple of days ago. They're definitely moving after sunup. The time is off by an hour. [IMG]

I found one version but it spit out the net score only and pissed me off! Lol.

I think they all do that cause the net is always the official... Cept for the contest. ;)

Yeah I'm awake... Should be going huntin... But I'm just awake thinking about it instead

    /sigh

Yeah, I'm up also but I'm not going to say I'm awake, lol. Once I get started waking up at a certain time like I have been to get in a deer stand, I just automatically wake up at the same time every morning.

I still have more deer tags to fill and another buck tag but I'm out of storage room until I get some meat processed. The spare refrigerator is crammed full of deboned meat. That bucks backstraps are huge! The slices aren't going to be medallions, more like steaks.

I never understood the "concept" of a net score in B&C and P&Y...always seemed unfair. Always felt that whatever was there was there and should be counted.

In addition to over all size, the other goal is uniformity... Perfection! Ha!

Is the non-typical score calculated differently?

The Nontypical score is done the same as typical but just for racks with nontypical points. They still deduct the difference between the left and right antlers total inches.

I agree that gross score is a better way to calculate. If the deer grows it I think it oughta count.
