Yeah I still haven't gotten a reply from BH1988 and I have no idea what happened to Cunningham....

Well I have a story this evening. Wind was blowing like a SOB here this evening, I had stuff to do to get back into harvest for tomorrow today so I got a late start going out with the bow. I hade a genius idea to take a ladder stand with me and put it up back in the brush where I climbed a tree last night. I thought I'd move back a little further where the buck last night split off the main trail and bust him at the intersection.....

Would have been a great idea had I gotten down there mid-day to install the stand. I started putting together the ladder sections as quietly as I could and leaned it up in the tree, decided two sections weren't enough so I picked the stand up higher and started to reach down to grab the other section and slide it in the other half. As I started to grab for the other piece (keep in mind I was physically holding 10' of ladder and stand up at head height at this point) I felt something was watching me...I looked around and right there at 20 yards stood sasquatch! Lol, nah not really.... But there was a nice young buck standing there staring at me. Probably a 3 year old 8 point. His rack was still inside his ears but he was good and heavy and absolutely beautiful.

I froze in place holding up this stand, lol. This stupid deer just stood there staring at me and to my surprise he actually started walking to me! Here I stood hlding up the weight of this ladder stand and my bow at my feet, lol! I don't think I would have shot him anyway but he was pretty. After a bit he turned and went west and stopped again staring at me. I finally started getting tired and snort wheezed at him just to see what he would do, he stomped and came toward me again! I started laughing and shoo'ed him off.

Appearently there is a scrape about 15' south of me that I hadn't seen from the ground. I think the rattling of the metal pieces sounded like antlers tickling together and with that scrape there it was just more than the young guy could get his mind around, lol.

Anyway he went on and never did really spook, about thirty minutes later a doe came through and that was all the deer I saw until I headed back to the truck.

I own 350....I rent an additional 500 of farmground and manage another 1850 acres or recreational hunting ground. There's about 120 acres of the farmland I don't get permission to hunt though and I don't have cameras or anything around that property. There are some monsters there too, I saw one crossing the bean field over there last year while I was cutting beans that about made me choke on my own spit...lol.

Well I saw him again today. I've sat this tree Sunday mornjng, Thursday morning and this morning. All three I saw this pig. None of the times I could get a shot. He's come three different ways now. I'm gonna get him.

What do you do with extra points? Do they go on the gross score or not...? I've got 4" of stickers....

Well, I THINK they go in the gross based on what I can determine, but might be taken away for the net... I'm far from any kind of expert though...

I included my split g2 measurement and nobody corrected me, so I assume the above. Unsure if stickers follow same rules. There are length to width rules to be followed if they are scorable though

    He's not a monster, he's 141 3/4" without the stickers and 145, 3/4" with the stickers. 6" base's.

He's a damn horse.....I liked to never got him loaded by myself into the pickup. Thank goodness for ratcheting straps and my fuel tank loops, lol.

I passed up two 3 year old bucks chasing a doe this morning and this guy was the third on her trail. Shot him broadside, both lungs and watched him go down within 60 yards...no tracking and I backed the truck up to him where he fell....don't get much better than that.

I assume you had the wind we had yesterday... I suspected that after the wind died early morning that they'd be up chasin this morning... It was beautiful from the porch anyway. Grats again!

Yeah it was windy yesterday but I still managed to see some nice deer yesterday evening while hanging a stand, lol.

I've had a pretty good season for my first year back after quiting archery three years ago! Sadly I missed the 200 point club in this contest this year but oh well. I wasn't about to pass this guy up even though I was sure he wouldn't break the 150" mark. I age him around 6 years old...monster body.
