Sorry I haven't been posting much. School has been keeping me busy the past couple weeks along with getting everything ready for September 28! I've almost got my two target bucks daily routines pin-pointed so hopefully that won't change before opening weekend (but I expect it will).

As for broadheads, I shot 100gr. Slick tricks for the past 2 years but I switched to the 100gr. NAP killzones this year. I hope to put a couple deer down with these to see if they perform as well as I've read and heard.

Was up until 12:00 last night tuning up my new arrows. Got the Lumenoks dialed in and the broadheads touched up. Today I was spraying down a few sets of clothes with permethrin. Went a little overboard on the first outfit, lol!

Alright guys, here is my game plan for opening day. The white dots are possible stand locations. The yellow are deer sightings and travel, although I don't know where they're bedding, but they are out in the field 30-60 min before sundown. The blue is access routes. The access via power lines may require some real stealth and maybe even belly crawling, because it is flat and open (plus I don't know where they are bedded). The other access is via a heavily used park trail to the stand to the west. Red is ideal wind. I could also do a soft bump along the power lines, then back out and go down the trail, and set up at the western stand. Hopefully that would get them moving in that direction. What do you guys think?

P.S. Last year when I accessed the stand to the west via the power lines and field edge, I had a big boy come from somewhere near the question mark, and sneak by me behind the first row of corn (corn last year, beans this year) right before dark.

First question Redz, is this private property? Second question, if the white dots are stand locations, why would you walk down the middle of the woods to get to the south location? I would walk the edge, out into the bean field then angle my way to the stand sites.

The field is private, then there is the transition area and timber, which is public. There is what's left of a barbed wire fence in between. I access through the woods, because the deer are bedded at or close to the field edge. Didn't want to bump them.

Also a creek bottom to the South, running West to East.

If you can not access the field to get to stands then I think I would walk closer to the creek bottom to get to the south stand.

Yeah, the deer have been all along the field edge feeding about an hour before sundown. The power lines are part of the public land. The corner of the woods, by the power lines and field is really thick stuff. Practically impenetrable.

Went to the range this evening to practice. Ended up meeting another local hunter, so we started shooting the breeze and the arrows together, lol. Ended up doing pretty well. He had a piece of burlap with a picture of a buck with vitals on it. Pretty good target actually!

Well gents it is looking like low 50's here in the morning. I plan on being in stand and ready at 5:30 am. Good luck to anyone else who is hunting tomorrow.
