Skunked. The heavy rains moved in so I headed for the truck. The state lands I have been hunting are challenging to say the least. I cannot hunt the private land I did where I missed that mature gobbler now as my friend is tagged out and changed his work schedule. I only had permission on that property if he was along. So I will be finishing out my season on this state land.

Dad got his bird this morning. Shot him at 7:00 around 30 yards. It's his first bird in two years. Birds seem to be off the hens here.

    Congrats to your dad!

Tomorrow is the last day and it's not looking good, sorry guys. I put in a huge effort, but hunting pressured public land birds in SW PA is tough.

Well guys we got skunked no turkeys this season we sure tried but hunting a new property and the weather did not do us any favors. Seemed like every time we went out it would rain...but that is hunting. sorry we did not hold up our end...

Good luck to everyone this dear season and have a great summer.
