Congrats man way to get it started for the team!!!

on another note.. has anyone here had luck in gaining permission to hunt from business owners to hunt the land around/behind their warehouses? because being stationed up here in PA its a nice little drive home to MD every weekend to hunt and ive been eyeing this chunk of woods behind a local Ehrlich Pest control building/ warehouse where I have seen a few deer recently and on my way home tonight I saw 3 huge bucks back there smallest one was about 130"est.. sooo I am going there tomorrow and trying to find the best approach to gaining permission to hunt back there. any suggestions?

I would approach it much like approaching a private landowner. One thing to also consider is the liability of the company. You may want to draft a "contract" waiving the company of all responsibility should there be an accident. That will show that you are responsible enough to consider their business. Just a thought to add to the list of things you would already ask a private landowner.

Way to go MN_Whitetail! I can't wait to sit in the stand. Oct 1st here but work might get in the way. We'll see how it turns out. Either way, I'll be in a tree come the following Saturday.

i have a week off, then day shift for 2 weeks. Planning to be in the woods morning and evening the first few days of the week, then afternoon hunts until I get scolded for being gone too much.

Well guys, have some royally bad news. Talked to the people who lease the land next to ours (farmers who hunt the woods). It's about 300 acres they have over there. Well we have found 2 EHD deer, he said they found 9 in the fields. That doesn't include what's in the woods. He said his brother may go through it. If not, I'm going to call him and try to find some time to do so. He did say one of the ones in the field was a 9 pointer. I know which one he's talking about, he was a HUGE 9.

I still have more areas to hunt, I may not get on the end of a big buck, but I'm planning on putting a few does on the ground for sure.

    Complete dud of an opener.
Saw more hunters than deer in the morning, saw absolutely nothing in the evening.

I didn't see anything either. To boot, on my way out, about 100 yards from my truck, I heard a snort/wheeze about 25 yards away in the woods and heard something running away. Guess I bumped one. Hopefully he/she will be back come Saturday morning.

watched a young buck feed on acorns from 9:30-10:30 Monday morning. Haven't seen a thing since. Sat all day Monday/Tuesday morning(till noon)/ all day Wednesday. I decided to go back to work and save my vacation for the 1st of November.
