Hey y'all Again sorry for the late check in. Better late than never i guess tho. Anyways, my name is Shane and I live in Texas. I work for Rolls-Royce Energy Systems and they keep me on the road most of the time. Right now im in Tunkhannock Pennsylvania. I got my bow with me and already have one spot to hunt here other than the public land so i might get a chance to take one down here in PA. If I dont get one here I take a week every year to go to Knox county Ohio, this year I'm goin November 3 thru the 12th, it should be good then. I also have some land back home in Texas to hunt too. I dont usually see any good bucks there until middle of December so if I havent taken one by then I still have a chance to get one late. Also something kinda neat is my little brother is a rookie with the Dallas Cowboys this year. I know it doesnt have anything to do with hunting but i'm so damn proud of him that I gotta tell everybody. Anyways, good luck to everybody this year. I'll try to check in to the forum more often. Great team name and team picture by the way.
Hey Shane, great to have you aboard. What do you do for rolls royce? I got lucky and I think I am free of traveling until the first of next year. What's your brother's name? That was a big win against the Giants. Either I was way off on the cowboys or the giants were way off their game.
I'm a field service representative for their energy division. I mostly do installations of gas turbines all over the place. My brother is #11, cole beasley, he didn't play much against the giants but he was in there some on offense.
Are you at Westinghouse in Pennsylvania? I used to be in field service for Navistar on the ford diesels, now I'm in project engineering for Toyota. happ to be off the road. That's a great idea to travel and hunt. I was never in one place but a day or two and didn't know I was going until the very last second. Now all the traveling I do is mostly international and well planned out.
Na, I'm working at the Proctor and Gamble plant in Mehoopany PA. I usually stay in places for a while when we have a project going on. I'm not usually in places where I can find somewhere to hunt so i kinda got lucky this year. I've been over seas quite a bit myself. Hard to get my bow out there, lol. I'm just happy to be in the states so i can find a place to shoot before the season. Its definitely a bonus to be where i can hunt too.
We had a lot of rain last night. It's low 70s now and a nice breeze, perfect treestand weather! Man I'm ready to go!
Nice to have you aboard shane. I have put in a request for one replacement (replacing kybowhunt). So hopefully we have a full team pretty soon ready to whack em and stack em!
LEZ GO! I'm pumped.. Haven't decided if i'm going to try the schwackers i bought, or get some slick tricks
Thanks cdybchtld, glad to be here. I'm ready to get in the woods. If I'm home in Texas when the season opens i'll probably get a doe on the board for us then.
Yeah I still have 20 days also. It's been warm here also, this last weekend and today was great, but the heat is going to come back. The deer here haven't started bulking up yet, so not too much meat yet lol
Yeah, it's really supposed to cool down thursday and friday here.. high 60's for a high, low 40's during night..
I went this morning, man it felt good to be back out there again. I saw a couple does but nothing in range.
Got the wind knocked out of my sails today fellas. Learned that I just lost my best archery spot (and the one i've hunted all my life). Landowner bought a cross bow & decided to try archery hunting he doesnt want any competition from my dad or I. I got back ups, none are as good I fel, its just a kick in the nuts 2 weeks before the season to lose your most comfortable spot.
If you were anywhere near me, I'd offer up a stand to. I have three places in WI to hunt and I can't be in all three at once...
Opening day is tomorrow. I won't be heading north till 6:00 pm when my fiance gets off, but we are ready. Good luck to anyone else that opens this weekend or already has.
