I got out and hung two more stands yesterday.. I don't have any cams out to prospect, but they're a couple sweet looking spots and there is sign everywhere and they are both near where I killed my two bucks last year. Since I don't have any Hit List buck pics to show you guys, here is the two I killed last year. Man I love looking at buck pictures. 1 month and man I'm ready. I should have my woods finished up today. I need to put 1 strap up on a stand, hang another, and remove ladder. There's still work to do at the woods where those buck pictures are, but that's kind of out of my control. The landowner who I hunt with wants to put a few ladder stands up. I'm not sure our locations quite agree so I'm going to take my muddy with me when I go. I haven't pm'd anyone. Cody have you? If so just report them as absent and we'll get some new people.
Bad news on the homestead guys. I finished up my "swamp" stand, then moved the east landing stand that gets us a deer or 2 every year and i hoped across the creek and ran into a doe. She was about a 2 year old. Looked like she was really sick. I was within feet of her and she didn't even move, even when I was right in front of her. I called DNR but they didn't want to come look, as of now. They said EHD was confirmed in the area so they are just documenting cases but an agent may call if they want to come and look.
10 days and a wake up! I haven't checked my cameras since the 25th of August too so I should have lots to look at after the first sit. I'm taking my 11 year old sister out on her first bow hunt. I have to work on getting her first deer, but after that its my turn. She will be my main focus though.
Less than 2 weeks until our ealry doe season. Lots of acorns behind the house, so hopefully the deer move in before dark & I can nail a doe early.
Made a trip out to the big spot so to check a camera and retrieve a camera. Man o man, there are 2 HUGE bucks it and I know there's another running around down there. Gas money is going to burn me up this year! lol
