Awesome! Welcome aboard! I hate hunting ravines but I"m still new to it. Last year I had a really nice 8 pointer opposite the ravine I was on. I pulled him in to 100 yards by a few calls but he didn't want to cross. It was neat to see a buck respond though.
I really think we have a great group of guys here with a lot of potential, I am really looking forward to getting to know you all and learning some different hunting tips and techniques. This being my first bowhunting.com contest, I think it will be a fun experience to be able to compete against hunters from across the nation. I have one question to start off, When does your hunting season start/end?
Hey guys, checkin in.. super pumped.. at school so i'll look at this thread later tonight after football practice.. seeing some nice bucks here in southwest Iowa! Antler Assassins!
Before we get started I just want to hit on some of the highlights of the rules to make sure all of our Deer will count in the contest. 1.Deer must be harvested legally within the laws and regulations of the state. 2.Deer must be killed with archery equipment. 3. Must have at least two different pictures with the Deer, Hunter, and the bow. As well as the date and time of when the deer was shot. (If you filmed the hunt and recovery of the deer you do not have to post additional pictures.) 4. A minimum score of 50 points will be given for Bucks (must be a legally "antlered" deer in your state and have a scorable rack), and 50 points will be given for a doe regardless of size or age. 5. If you have shot a deer and post the two photos in your team thread, however, do not post the photos and enter it in the Official Scorecard you will be banned from future contests. 6. Have fun!
I'm here. Cool that we have a name, capt & avatar already! I don't post much but I kill deer. I hunt PA & OH, & I should be good for some points for our team.
my season starts October 1st, just bought a new bitzenburg fletching jig online this morning. Need to find some cool arrows wraps! anyone know any cool wraps for Beman MFX?
http://www.arrowrap.com/custom.html. I work at gander mountain as the Archery Tech and this is what website I use when people come in and want wraps that we don't have in stock. You can make your own customs wraps on there if you want, but they have hundreds to choose from.
I just bought my arrow wraps(and some for my son) from Onestringer.com, great price fast shipping and can make custom. And their dozen wraps= 15(a baker's baker's baker's dozen)Got "Superman" for son and "Jeff Cozad-1" for me. October 1st is our start of season and I have a weeks vacation already on the schedule.
Mine is Oct 1 as well. But that depends on work seeing how that's a Monday. I've never been a fan of wraps. To me they increase weight in the back and hurt your FOC
Starts September 15th in MD as well. gonna try to whack a fat doe early to get this thing going and stack some meat away.
Same here. I have two dry does that haven't had fawns. One for one year and the other for two. Need to be whacked.
I'm not passing up on any doe until I'm at limit. Here are the bucks I'm after this year... the only problem is they're on some land about an hour and half south of my house. I haven't seen him at my house yet this year, but last year I had a deer called butterscotch (my twin 3 year olds named him). He was a massive bodied and tall racked 8 pointer last year. I'm excited to see him this year, but we don't have any cams up on my property, they're all south trying to get a glimpse of these guys. I'll go the week before bow season to see if one of these guys is hitting during the daytime and if so then I'll hunt them starting the weekend of Oct. 6th.
those are 2 awesome bucks Indy. i cannot wait to see BBD! I'm after a few decent bucks and also a bobcat I've been getting a couple pictures of! so excited for October 1st.
i have decided to play basketball this year instead of wrestling because wrestling has tournaments every saturday morning. i love bowhunting.
