Congrats on your buck! and 1st archery deer!

I'm all but done bowhunting guys. I might get out a time or 2 the friday or saturday after thanksgiving. Otherwise I'm done. 1st time in the contest history I will not have entered a deer. Sorry for losing my camera on the doe that I did shoot.

You're going elk hunting though right?

Yes, I went elk hunting. Was not successful on that trip either, but still had a great time. I have no issues trading my week of the rut for a week of elk, even if it was very slow going.

Yeah I would take that as well. I've never been but it's definitely on my list. The powerball is $214mil so next year I'll be able to afford it! lol

Lol, glad someone is scoring points! Good shooting and thanks for getting both!
I've been passing up deer that are too small to take.
I'm probably going to regret passing up that 9 a few weeks ago.

I hunted a real nice spot on the map Wednesday after work. I didn't see anything though.
I'm going back tomorrow afternoon and Sunday morning. Pretty pumped up for it too, we finally got another cold snap. The rut is nearly over but they're still on their feet.

Lenin got a big on for us. But he needs to get it posted up.

Saweet! Good work Shane and congrats on the meat!
I spent most of the weekend at my property in Southern Indiana. I didn't even see a deer. I've been going for broke chasing after a great big drop tine buck. I was a quarter mile in, but I think I'm going to have to go further. It's just tough because I'm running out of time and need some meat in the freezer.

    congrats Shane, nice work.
Was out yesterday for the morning and had a 4 pointer bedded 60 yards on a hillside for about 2 hours when I finally had to leave. He just got up and walked away. Off this Thursday and Friday and gonna try my new smokepole (CVA Optima).

    Congrats to those who've scored.

From here on out its likely only handgun or shotgun for me. Maybe if I happen to find a lot of buck activity at one of my spots I would bust out the bow again, but that is not likely to happen.

I'm in the same boat really. I need to get a few does in the freezer before I go chasing after the big drop tine buck again.

Just in case any team mates were wondering, I shot a real nice buck with my flintlock the day after christmas. It was really cool!

That's awesome. I brought the smoke pole out for rifle season but never pulled the trigger. I have 1 weekend left for bow hunting and if I see antlers in WI in January, IT'S ON!

Well, another season has come and gone in WI. Saw plenty of deer but never shot. Sat last night until I could no longer see, perhaps in a desperate attempt to prolong the season. Despite my efforts both last night and throughout the rest of the season I will be enjoying the bitter taste of tag soup tomorrow for lunch. Good luck to those that still have some time left in the woods this season and I thoroughly enjoyed being on team 17 this year.

Well guys, my season is over too. It's the first time in ages that I came up empty. In hindsight, it really was a good season. I had 2 great deer in my peep but never tripped the release. One of them my brother ended up shooting and I kicked myself even harder after because it was a good deer. However, the temptation of the monsters was just too much. Unfortunately I couldn't get to that spot near as much as I would like.

Rybo, please post pictures up of that, especially the flintlock, that's REALLY cool.

It was great serving with you and sorry it couldn't have ended up better.
