Wish they'd update the scores once in a while. So we could see how we stack-up!

(I think my teams in the lead on the "other" site) Would love to pull off a double!

Get some horn on the ground! :)

I'll be hitting the woods this weekend with either my 870 or my ML. Blaze orange hurts my eyes tho :(. It seems as though just about every year on of our target bucks gets shot during the shotgun season by a hunter that is in the woods for the first time that year. I must admit it gets very frustrating, but it's part of hunting and all I can do is hope that the two bucks we've been seeing either stay on our land, or go into hiding once a couple shots are fired. I wouldn't mind shooting one of them one bit with my gun, but I sure would love to get a chance at one of the big boys with my bow.

Nope, even if you wear your blaze orange it's illegal. It doesn't really make that much sense to me though because they allow you to bow hunt during the youth season if you wear blaze orange, as well as the ML season if you wear your orange. I guess there are a lot more hunters out in the general firearm season, but I don't see what the big deal is with bow hunting during firearm season...

WHY in the hell won't they allow a person to bowhunt during gun season? What kind of dang moron made that rule? As long as you wear blaze orange, what is the big deal?

I'm with you on this, I don't understand it. That's the way we have it here in GA and TN, we can bow hunt all year just have to have the orange on once ML & rifle opens up.

Wow really, we are that close. Come'on guys let's shoot a doe or something lol.

OK Steve, quit playing peak-a-boo with that buck and get him on the ground. We gave the others teams a chance, (for awhile).

What sucks is that you can't shoot a doe...they should allow, some wiggle room on the 1 tag States..but alas I would be called a whiner (again) if I were to mention it. :)

great job Gr8!! WI has the same rule here with no bowhunting during the gun reason. But the week after you can bowhunt during the ML season which makes no sense! I really wish a guy could bowhunt during gun season. the only problem i could see is people shooting 2 bucks and then just using there archery tag on one and believe me there plenty of losers around me that would do that! Which is sad so maybe its a good thing idk....Schultzy u arent aloud to shoot a doe in Minn? i thought thats where Shrek got his but i soppose different zones allow it and some dont.

On a lighter side after tomorrow I won't have class for a whole week thanks to Thanksgiving break. My break will be filled with three days of shotgun season (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), and a whole week of bowhunting including next weekend. I'm not sure how productive bowhunting will be since it's directly after our first shotgun season, but I'm not going to kill anything sitting at home. If only firearm season were one week later, I would have a whole week of some good hunting!

Hey guys. Yesterday was our opening day of WI gun season and it started off quite crappy but at the end of the day everything was great! The morning started off super foggy where i was sitting, couldnt see more than 25 yards by me and the fog didnt leave till around 930. I saw a couple small bucks that morning and one decent 3.5 but all the tines on his right side were broken off except his g2 so he got to walk. um then from about 10 till 3 i saw no deer until a nice 10 pointer snuck up the side of the ridge i was on and came to about 40 yards. I was looking at him and was trying to decide wheather or not he was what i wanted. He was nice 16 wide and probably about 130" or so. so i had my gun on him and he started to walk away and started rubbing a tree and starting walking all stiff legged down the other side of the ridge. Then the deer does a snort weeze and im like what the heck is he doing that for and i took a look down the ridge farther and i see why hes doing that. A different buck was coming up the hill at him and he was quite a bit bigger. One look at him and i knew for sure he was what i wanted. It took about 3-4 minutes before he would turn broadside for me. I ended up shooting about 140 yards at him and he didnt make it 30 more yards and crashed. He is my best buck i've ever gotten! I taped him tonite and got 146 4/8 I really wish it woulda been with the bow but it just didnt work out that way.But im super excited and am very happy.

Congrats bud, that's a great buck! I didn't have much luck this shotgun season, but fortunately I don't think many of the hunters around did either because we never heard of any really nice bucks being killed. I think I'm going to take a couple days off of hunting and let things calm down a little bit from shotgun season, but I plan on being back in the woods on Monday morning toting my bow.
