Was nice seeing three new scrapes around my stand as the woods lite up. First deer in this morning was a young 7pt. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I posted on the main forum about my doe's. I think they have buckeye poisoning. Didn't know with the first doe, but the fawn was a mercy killing. I'll put this question to you. I feel awkward about a photo with the doe's to put points towards our team for the kill given the situation. I still have them in my truck waiting on a call from the Warden. I'm not going to eat them. Would you take a pic with them for points? Anybody thats out good luck and be safe.
I put in 13 hours this weekend and saw 5 does. Nothing is moving during light in my area, absolutely nothing. My mock scrape is getting used though so hopefully things start getting exciting in the next week or so. We've got rain coming tonight and tomorrow I need a day off of hunting, I've put about 40 hours in the stand so far and only seeing does. Back at it on Thursday and Friday!
I'm in my Viper. Not Amos`s stand, but I feel MUCH more comfortable with the 3rd Hand accessories on this one. Sent from my E6782 using Tapatalk
Passed up a buck we call Shorty (short brows). He's a 9 pt that would go around 130. Rattled him in to 18yds. It was a fun encounter but I have a couple bucks ahead of him on my list and I have 12 days of vacation to burn the next few weeks. In the stand on our farm that G3 is on. He's been nocturnal on cams, but hoping he comes in the foodplot checking does. Good luck all! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Good luck this week boys and girls I will be heading up to film my brother and uncle for the rest of this week starting Tuesday morning. I will be bringing my bow with but really doubt I'll ever bring it out unless all buck tags get filled. My dad shot a 125" 3.5 yr old last night made a perfect shot. The buck came crashing threw on a doe 10 minutes after he saw one of his shooters and thought it was the same shooter coming in. He's still happy to shoot a deer and proud of his shot just wished he could have got a better look at the deer before letting the arrow fly on a great 3.5 .
There has been a 140 nine pointer taunting my dad and I all weekend. First Sunday morning he walked by my dad before shooting light at 25 yards. Then that evening he walked out of range from my dad and headed east away from our woods, only to show up shortly after that by me on the west end of the our woods. He came twenty yards away, turned around and chased a doe the other way. He only needed 5 more steps. Then he shows up again and skirts me on his scrape line just out of range. Now, this morning he circled my dad again just out of range... gun season opens Saturday. Hopefully my dad can seal the deal before then.
I'm glad you guys are seeing stuff, I am still only seeing does. Apparently I should have been out hunting on Sunday, I am hearing from all my Ohio buddies that they started seeing bucks. I think this week and next week are going to be good. I have this mock scrape that's being hit but seems to always be at night still. I hope things pick up this week, I'm getting a bit frustrated.
Patience Doug. All the hard work you guys are doing will pay off soon. Sent from my E6782 using Tapatalk
Chris, You are a better man than me. You're passing 130"s and I'm passing 13"s But I would love to see you drop a 160" bruiser. Good luck.
It ought to be against the law to get married in November, well at least the first two weeks anyhow. This weekend I am stuck attending a wedding with the wife but after that it a whole week of sitting in a tree. Looking forward to that!!
I'll be off this Wednesday to next Wednesday. Hoping with the cooler temps coming this Friday, I'll be able to score on one of the big boys. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
