100% know which one you are talking about....apparently I've killed many over 140 and didn't realize it...
So I want to kindof explain myself. I made a mistake when scoring my deer and the admin was nice enough to let me correct it. I was willing to accept the lower score if they couldn't correct it. I have the new score sheet posted below. I verified with the admin about my second pic because it was 90 degrees that day and it was going directly into the freezer so I didn't have a lot of time to take pics. Plus to be honest, in my over excited state (this was by far my biggest deer ever and first buck with a bow) I kinda forgot I needed 2. I offered to take a pic with my bow and the caped deer but was told it wasn't necessary.
All good man. Every one knew yours was a error. Glad you sorted it out. The deer in question just grew again lol. By November it's gonna be a booner.
Same here bro, because now I am interested to see how bad it is. The one error in which you guys speak of regarding the G5 measurements is a teammate of mine and it was indeed an honest error. He was a great sport about it and corrected and posted his updated entry yesterday to the scorecard. The other that is growing as we speak I have to look for, because now, like I said i am intrigued lol Every year there are "errors" in the scoring and that is expected, but for flat out "fudging" numbers to get a bump in a few inches to me is just crazy. It is a friendly contest between us all and when that starts being allowed or not policed properly it can certainly spiral out of hand and tarnish something I believe we all have lots of fun participating in.
What kills me is lots of these bucks would be once in a lifetime bucks for many. Why taint your name for a few points. We all can eye ball a deer and be within 5-8 inches. Who are y'all trying to trick?
Agreed. Errors are errors and no one on here ever gets bent out of shape about those. I brought it up so the mods would call out the errors so people fix them and we continue business as usual. But yes some of the CNN fake news scores .... Zero patience for that. And honestly even if you scored wrong, like scoring a point to the bottom of the main beam instead of the base of the point. You still would never get to the 20"+ that I've seen. So it's pure fake scores. No way to screw it up. As mentioned last year I took down a Boone and Crockett buck. And I'm seeing 120-130 class deer with main beam and mass scores longer then my 189.
Honest mistakes happen. I missed the H4 measurements on my first archery buck in the contest a couple of years ago. Someone kindly pointed it out and I corrected it. But, team captains should be doubling checking scores in addition to the contest admin.
Yep, I agree Captains should be double checking their teams entries. All a part of their duties. I'd reccomend PM'ing Brad and the team Captain about the deer of issue. This is the first deer I ever killed, mainframe 6 with a lot of junk, I scored him in the upper 150's Never have scored it to see what it actually is, guessing in the 120's. Can't see a few of the stickers. Has 13 points total.
The pictures he posted did that deer 0 justice. That’s a stud and I’m on board with his score. Thanks for clearing everything up for everyone Ben! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
They need to get that scorecard updated. We have 3 deer posted (Team 24) and nothing. I figured he was probably waiting for evolved's correction. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
