That's crappy! I can't believe that it got that out of control.

Very nice buck, by the way.

Got out scouting again with Britney and Christine. I promised Christine we would get close to some deer so she would get a really good look. She leaves this weekend and I wanted her to have a good time scouting with us as this is the first few times she has got to go with us and has been looking forward to it. I figured out a great spot to sit and knew we might get busted but sometimes you just got to do it with a 10 year old's happiness in mind.

Well someone was looking down on us this evening. We had a 2 year old buck walk right up to us. Christine got her close look with the buck stopping 25 yards from us. He busted us and I suspect Christine giggling was to blame. She was a happy camper. I thought I was filming it but blundered and didn't hit the record button hard enough in all the chaos. dammit !!!!!

We saw 5 bucks and a few doe.

And just for you wreckless448... here is the best buck out of the 5 we saw ( pardon the crappy filming... we film just to get a better look at them at home for sizing them up. our little cheapy camcorder isn't very good ).

Very nice buck Tim! Glad to see that your girls got to get up close to a dear last night. My hunting partner is going to talk with a rancher about access through his property to an area where, supposedly, 30" bucks run around all day. Hopefully that will make scouting and hunting a little easier and we'll have a shot at some big bucks.

I borrowed the Phone Scope mount from a co-worker and hopefully it fits my scope for Saturday! I'm getting excited to finally get out there.

I want to get both a spotting scope and a phone scope but I'm not going to pay that much right now. It would be sweet though. I just put my ipod up to my binos and take pics through it, it actually works pretty decent.

I have taken pictures from my phone on the scope and try turned out ok, but with our spot and stalk set up, it will be a lot easier to have the phone scope. I know about it all being expensive. I was looking last year and one of the guys that I worked with traded me a little of his work for the Nikon that I have. And then I found a website with a tutorial on how to build your own scope mount, so we'll try that approach.

High desert. Lot of quakies in the mountains. I should have some pictures this weekend.

Isn't this contest only for whitetail?

I don't think so. I'd use the P&Y scoring for mule deer to get my score. I think. Better ask Ty.

I asked Ty just to be sure. I know that it says just like the main contest and mule deer are allowed in that, just no multipliers.

Phone scope mount is a touch too big, so it looks like a trip to the Home Depot.
