We have tried but there isn't any true proof, just speculation. The guys I hunt with have lost over a thousand in their own stuff but when we try to get the law involved nothing happens because of the lack of proof.
I agree. There last cam set up was screwed to the tree and the cam was in a 1/4 inch thick steel box. Whoever cut it off the tree cut into the tree partially and cut the bolt to get at the cam. We figured this would take heavier equipment to make it happen. Leads us to the farmer or his kid. The thing about it is we have tried to work with them and coordinate hunting together and they don't want any teamwork, all they do is try to ruin our hunting as much as possible. They only hunt rifle so we just stay out of there at that time.
How old is this farmers kid? Heres a tip. But a dummy trail camera for like $20, its just the outside shell. And set it up somewhere kinda visible, then put a working cam up high in a very secluded and camouflaged pot in a tree facing toward the dummy one. So when he goes to take the fake one he gets his pic taken.
They tried that once, the kid ended up taking both. He knows the ins and outs of stealing and not getting caught. I think he is around 25 right now. May be wrong on age though.
So the guy gives you permission to hunt but he's a ****? I don't get it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No but saw the most activity I've seen all season! 15+ deer Including 3 really nice 3yos that I know.
Pro v1 the owner leases it for people to farm and let's a different group hunt it. The farmer and son are only supposed to farm and are allowed to rifle hunt only. We have previlges for the rest of the time.
Gotcha. I have the same situation @ the area I pheasant hunt & the guy that farms that is a jerk also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cool, we are finally having some colder weather here so I'm hoping it jump starts the rut & gets the deer moving! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Took off from work early today and did some shooting today. Definitely getting the itch. 13 days and counting down!
Marshall is out shopping for food right now. I'm sitting at home playing with my pack situation. I've got a detachable day pack on my internal frame that I'll use for the stalk. It fits my hydration bladder, radio, tags and license, field spray, and optics (little binos and the range finder). My only problem is it is red. It's semi solved by wearing my jacket over it, but I'm still trying to figure out how I'll access my optics without wearing them also. The big bag will sit at the the campsite and carry food, clothes, spare water jug, and other misc. camp stuff. I just have to figure out where my game cleaning gear will go. On another note, my broadheads are all tuned up. The night before I head out, I'll switch out the practice blades for the killing blades. Marshall will be down this afternoon with his bow to broadhead tune, make finally packing arrangements and put together our hunting plan on a map. Once we get the plan in place, I'll use the ACME mapper to mark them up and then will print the topographic maps of the area and the satellite imagery for the areas. 13 more days until we're both on the mountains. Can't wait.
We are still harvesting and doing falls work but hopefully soon I will get some time off to hunt. Good luck to the guys hunting now !! Tim
