Very nice. Hopefully that makes putting a big buck down.

Got out on Saturday night & never saw a deer. "October lull" seems to be in full effect. Gonna give it another try tonight.

    Was Out
Yesterday morning and this morning ,yesterday I had 2 spike bucks come by at 9:30 and today I had zero come by. The day before I had placed my buddy in a stand where one of my top 5 bucks had been showing up and low and behold he shot the buck I call Tank and ended up trailing him with huge amounts of blood every 50 yards. I actually thought he'd be laying over the next downed log. We looked from 8:30 till 2:30 in the morning. Then I went out the next morning at 8am with my grandson and looked for another 3 hours. He made a 15 yard shot and said he thought he took out the heart, but after talking to him he said the deer heel kicked and arched his back. That to me sounds like a gut shot. Tank once sported 200 inches of antler, this year he was quite a bit shorter and at 12 years old was starting to diminish with age. Rick said he looked to be 180+.
That afternoon I hunted by myself and no sooner then I got home at 9pm my phone rang with my Moose partner asking me if I'd help him find his Bull that he shot at last light at 48 yards. He then phoned me back saying he thought he might have gut shot him so we should leave him till the morning thinking he'd still be alive. He made a bad call as the moose was down dead 180 yards from where he shot him. We not only wasted 1400lbs of meat but for me that meant I'd been involved with 2 unsuccessful loss hunts. Pretty down about the loss of 2 great animals. The moose hunter friend is the most successful Moose guide in Alberta. The other guy is a very close friend whom I hunted with for the last 30 years and I got him into bowhunting after he got me into rifle hunting.Just needed to vent!
    Thanks for listening!!!!!!!!!!

I sat last night from 4 until dark. Had a fork horn walk under my stand early & 2 does came by just as it got dark. I'm in stand right now & so far haven't seen a thing. Gonna probably give it another hour or so then plan on moving a blind for my little guy & I to sit in this evening.

Had 2 fawns, 2 does and a little half rack but under 15 yards this morning. The buck walked right underneath the platform of the stand. Going out again tonight.

A few new bucks on camera, of course in the middle of the night. I did jump a really nice buck out of his bed while putting up a camera mid day. I don't have a stand there this year because its really hard to hunt with the wind. Didn't see any deer tonight while on stand

    My Last Hunt Tonight
That's it till the 30th,then I'm off till the 29th of November. Walked in and checked my TC and changed the SD card out. Saw nothing but heard lots of movement. After getting home and checking my SD card, wow a good 5x5 and a monster Bull Moose bedded not 13 yards from my stand less then 40 minutes before I changed out the SD Card. That must of been all the noise I was hearing. Then to top it off there's a few mulies hanging out too! Bonus if I can shoot one of those! 1st excitement all year, LOL ,that's bad huh!
    Good luck team
    Rocky

Pretty sure the weather has to settle down here before the deer will start moving again. It was 75 today which is crazy for late October in ND.

Temps up here are way above normal too, It was 69 when I got out of my stand last night in the dark. Leave in the morning for 10 days and then I'm off for the month of November for the rutt. Good luck team while I'm gone.
