Alright guys i had some pics of a nice mainframe 8 in late July and I didn't know what deer it was but I was guessing he was 3yso. I did notice what looked like an antler growing from the left side of his face about in the middle. I got more pics of him on Sunday in velvet and I realized it was the deer I was chasing the last 2 months of the season last year, we had called him scarface because he had a dark scar on the left side of his face, he was a mainframe 9 with a kicker on the right side last year. It turns out it is the same deer and this year he has grown an antler out of his face where the scar was last year. The reason I didn't recognize him the first time is that he lost a g4 and a sticker on the right, but added a split g2 on the left this year. His frame is the same size as last year and he might even score smaller. He is no giant for sure and not even a big deer, but he is 4yso this year so he will be on the hitlist.

I decided to not Elk hunt and spend my time on my Moose Tag that is a draw and hopefully maybe tag a good whitetail too. My wife fell and hurt her back so I need to be home for her, or at least close to home. Be out in the am.

My dad and I are headed out west early tomorrow morning for a last minute antelope/mulie hunt. We will be in western NE until probably Sunday or Monday. We aren't sure if we want to chase antelope again or mulies. This will be my 4th hunt out there and I am pumped! Hopefully we can get something this time and maybe I can even get our team on the board with a nice Mule deer! Nevertheless it will be a great time!

Good luck chasing mulie's and antelope. Didn't get my draw this year for one and thought I would. Been 5 years since they mostly died off from the cold winter back then. Not a very hardy animal but to me, there the best for mounting.Great eating too. Heading out for an evening hunt and to put out another TC.

Had a BIG FAT nanny doe @ 15 yards last night for 5-7 minutes directly facing me. Would not give me a broadside/quartering away shot. By the time she turned it was too dark to pick her up in my peep. :-( Still a fun night out & got the adrenaline goin!

Sounds like you guys have been having an awesome time. I'm a little jealous. I'll probably shoot a little tomorrow, but I've got to get my shower walled in this weekend, so we'll see.

Highs in the low 60's lows in the mid 40's. Too bad season doesn't open for two weeks.
