We made it out this evening. Pretty quiet. We packed up and left at almost last light. We got about 150 yards away from our spot when I looked back and could see a deer walk right where we had been. I could barely make out that he had a rack in the waning light. No idea how big he was but it would have been great if he would have gotten there 10 minutes earlier. It would have been a 10 yard shot if he would have been a good buck.

I struck out as we'll Tim. SE wind is the worst. Saw one doe who winded me. Had to sit in a blind due to the wind & hate not being able to glass. Goin now to hang a stand & may try it tonight or head back over where I missed on Friday?

I got out and shot with gloves on tonight. Felt pretty good. Just a few more weeks until I throw the practice broad heads on and tune her up for hunting.

Good luck to Rocky and Hoyt tomorrow !!

Another quiet pm hunt. Had a doe go by me and that was it.

We are going out in the morning. Got rained out this morning so we want to make the most of tomorrow. Hopefully the deer are moving better in the morning then they have in the evenings.

Morning hunt was a blast. Had 4 bucks come in and the only one that was big enough to shoot was the one I never had a shot at. Had him as close as 15 yards and needed him to go another 8 yards to my right to hit my shooting lane. He was the one I filmed that I put a clip on here of. Suspect he would gross 135 - 140 and looked great in velvet.

One of the smaller bucks had velvet hanging off his rack and it was driving him batty flopping in his face. Got a good chuckle out of watching him.

Great morning except the skeeters were nuts !!! Why they were put on this earth, I will never know. Miserable things !!!!!!!

Saw a nice 2 or 3 year old 10 point at 35 yards and got some cool video of him. Also had my #1 hitlist buck at 40 yards, there was just no clear shot. I will be out again tonight if the wind cooperates.

Didn't make it out guys. Had to treat the wife to dinner seeing I just got back in town. I'll be out tomorrow for sure. Had a drink to much to go so I stayed safe and stayed home. No food and a drink sure doesn't go good together,ha ha ha. Got a whole month so a missed day won't mean to much! I hope that don't come back and bite me in the a--. LOL. Good luck to those hunting! DON'T FORGET THOSE SAFETY BELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Rocky, didn't mean to scare you! ;-). I used my thermacell more in the last 4 days than in the last 4 years. Skeeters are crazy up here with all the rain we've had!

Got my tags and all ready to go,just need to go shoot a bit this am and see where I'm at and then it'll be off to the woods a little early so that I can hang a few TC's and get into my stand a little early, dark rolls in now @ 8:15. Man what a crazy year, I haven't even stepped into the woods yet ,the squeeters wouldn't allow me. They wanted to suck my blood! I said noooooo wayyyy. So this is the 1st year since I've been hunting that I'm going in blind. Hope all the deer haven't moved out,LOL. Need to make a visual of the stand I'm climbing up in today, specially the straps holding it up. Don't want to be coming down unexpectantly. Talk to you's tonight.
    Rocky
