So let's see here, We have a couple of Okies with perfume of cow/sheep on their cowboy hats, strolling in from out west, a couple of missorians w/a slight bit of gayness to them, coming in from down south, there's one fat-fingered hoosier, a couple of browneye, oops I mean buckeye state boys staggering over, a couple of polka-lovin, cheese heads from "ya-hey-der" wi, going to party in the land of flats w/a bunch of FISH!
ok, anyone goin to the GTG that will have tools available to help me get my bow in a decent state of tune?? peep alignment, timing, etc... all new concepts to me... I'd appreciate any help the GTG guys might be able to offer
I think that would be Mechdoc, if he's going. I think he's the one that had everything with him to do field surgery. I'm sure ther will be enough people w/duct tape & silicone to get that thing going.:d Maybe Buckeye will so up & help w/your sight, he's a whiz at that since last yr that was his excuse for his shooting efforts.
That's just down right cold brother, just plain cold. Well I guess if there ever was an expert on crap, it is definitely is anyone who owns a Hoyt.
I gotta PM off to mechdoc, hope i can get with him prior to the GTG... I fired a couple shots off and the problem I've got is that my peep/sight combo has my site adjusted MOST of the way up, not a whole lot of room left to get everything taken care of... first thought is that I need to lower my peep a touch to bring the site adjustment range back in line... I don't have the tools/knowledge to remove the serving, relocate the peep and reserve it to keep it in line... the rest of it will be easy as we're talkin about dialing in the site and rest a little... the site/rest stuff i've got a handle on... I need more tools!!! a press and some other tools....
Don't forget to take your antique plate of your bow before you shoot, that might help you avoid walled structures
What kind of bow is it? I'll likely bring a kit with me that will allow me to do most anything, I usually do. I will have a bowmaster press in it, but not sure if you have a split limb bow? I'd be happy to help tune if you or anyone else would like help.
Good, to be honest if it's that new I'd be surprised if we have to press the bow at all. Any known problems with it now or just a general setup and making sure it's in good shape?
it was bought used but with low mileage, i'd think we'd need to press in order to adjust the peep, no?? and according to the 'specs' it is slightly out of time (unless I'm reading things wrong)... anyway, i'll brign the owners manual and you can decide for yourself...
