It's that time of year, nothing beats a hot cup of soup and a sandwich while sitting in a cold stand. Good luck to anyone hunting today. Let's keep the deer movement reporting going. I will be checking a couple cams this morning on my way in, one close to a corn field that just got cut and one I set up on a mock scrape.

 

Good luck Wes, I'm hitting the road soon to get to the property. I really need to get a something to take soup out in, that sounds really good.

Something my dad always did when we rifle hunted together, so it has carried over to me. He also took a second thermos with hot chocolate mixed with peppermint schnapps. I always wondered why he never would let me drink any when I was younger.

 

Boy there was no sneaking in here this morning ! No wind + crunchy leaves. Spooked at least 2, but I have some walking around me now. Not shooting anything except a buck... I am low on BHs! Go figure 30 mins til go time

 

Jumped about 5 walking in but I'm here, ready to go! It's going to be a cold one, good luck fellas.

 

I found one heck of a funnel this morning. Im liking my chances. In PA.

28deg been in the stand since 6;15, snowing light wind,turkey's gobbling at day break. It's a good morning.

 

Turkey's flying down behind me, no deer yet. Rut seems to be kicking in here

 

I'm up the tree and all set up. Feels good to be back in the stand. It's windy but at least it's blowing in the right direction. Hoping I can get a doe down. Good luck everyone.

Checked 2 cams, only had a few does hit the mock scrape I made last week, but I did have either splitter or Tiney show up on one of my other cams, can't tell which it is on my camera but should be able to tell when I look at it on my computer at home. In the 40s right now, winds gusting 20-25, but in a decent direction. Ready for this all day adventure to begin. Saw a bright shooting star on my way here, and a couple good tunes came on the radio, maybe that is signs of a good day in the making. Good luck everyone, be safe and shoot straight.

Ok so I just had a decent 8 point come running through the woods he kept on trucking, but now I got a smaller 8 chasing a 4-6 in circles around my stand. Can I post videos from my phone on here?

Windy as heck in Bureau County,IL. Sitting at the bottom of the valley where I feel a slight breeze. Tops of the trees are moving all around. Hoping the deer move thru here! Good luck all!
