Woods are so violent this morning. Squirrels knocking each other out of trees, crows sound like they're killing each other.

Oh but I did see a nice 8 pt earlier! C'mon back!

Had a lone doe walk the fence line right at shooting light. Thought she would come in, but she stayed in the field, not sure where she went, just beans and corn to the south and west, wondering if she didn't bed down in some tall grass right in the edge of the tree/field line.

Just had 2 does come in. 1 was worth taking. I didn't let them get comfortable enough before I reached for my bow. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

It's incredible to me how a 100 lb. deer can be 30yds from you and can move without a sound, meanwhile a 1 lb. squirrel sounds like a tank driving through the woods

I said it once and I'll say it again, I HATE SQUIRRELS!!!!! They are driving me nuts this morning, I have one that keeps jumping on the limb above me, barking at me, then running off, comes back 10 mins later and does it again.

You could run a dart through him and nail him to a tree for all his friends to see. Maybe then they'll understand they need to keep their mouth zipped while we're hunting!
    Lol

I'm a little bummed that they busted me reaching for my bow. She wasn't a huge doe, but I would've been happy to put her in the freezer. Would've made a nice second day of the season. At least I didn't do it on the last day of the season

could have been in my boots yesterday, had a decent 8 walk by at 12 yds at last light, I let him walk, about 2 mins later he winded me and gave a nice loud blow. Least he could have done is just ignored me like I ignored him.

They're ungrateful. They don't even comprehend the magnitude of the favors we're doing them. What do we get in return? Terrorist squirrels.

I've pretty much given up hope here. But, I know as soon as I get down and start moving I'll have white flags waving bye bye at me. One more hour...just one more hour. :banghead:

I have a nice fog here, I'm gonna hold down the fort until it burns off and temps start going up. Hoping maybe a few stayed up past bed time and will wander through about then.

I'm thinking I'll climb down around 1030, then I think I may head to b-dubs for lunch. Got one about 15 mins down the road. Then I'll come back, take a little siesta in the truck until about 1ish, then set up for the afternoon hunt.
