Had a buddy call last minute and offered to let me sit one of his stands. He took a nice 9 pt out of another stand Wednesday night. The rut is in full swing here and the bucks are chasing. Said there are a couple monsters running around so I'm hoping one comes out. Last day of the season hope to get it done!

IMAG0300.jpg IMAG0300.jpg Had an ineresting day. This is only the second time I've had the chance to hunt in the snow, or whats left of it here in south Alabama. All of that ice sounded like I was dragging an aluminum ladder down a gravel road as I attempted to "sneak" to my stand long before daylite. Knowing the rut is in full swing here, my 3-D target has been molested in my yard two or three times this week so I decided to use her as a decoy,.....Well, just before it got lite but enough you could barely make out images moving, and not to mention all the crunching of the ice,...I hear a commotion going on out in front of me, but cant quite tell what it is. Unfortunately it goes quite before daylite, but I then noticed my "decoy" is all dishoveled and nearly coming off of the stakes. Apparently the "Tinks" I sprayed on its tail worked. Had a small buck come in about 9am, but the wind changed and he winded me. Seen several does, may have to take one more for the freezer tomorrow. Here in south Monroe county, our season started late, so I got till the 10th to find big boy.

Well all I saw was 4 squirrels. Wish I had my 22 with me. Buddy that invited me along his son shot a pretty large spike. It was his first buck.
