Skunked! Then I had 3 does run across the road, 300 yards from my stand, on the way home.

Spent the day (yesterday) with my favorite person in the world, in a ladder stand facing a small overgrown food plot. Not only is she my best friend, she's my beautiful wife(hard to prove with all that camo,..lol)
The weather was awesome, very light breeze, mid 30's, and not a cloud in the sky. We started hearing movement about the time the sun went behind the tree's, decided to thin the doe heard just before dark, took a very mature, healthy doe at 18 yards. The best part of the entire day was my wife was sitting in the tree with me all day,..this was her first time in a tree stand by the way!!!Cant wait till next week-end, she says she wants to go again........

Hunted this public land numerous times, just tried a different spot that I haven't before.... To no luck... Didn't see anything... Was a bit cold but no wind so the temps weren't that bad!!!! Had fun getting out after a few weeks layoff.....

Well this is most likely my last sit of the season. So far I've seen squirrels, a rabbit, a opossum, a bobcat and a bunch of turkeys. Sitting at the back corner of my soybean plot, where I have seen good evening activity. It's been a strange and fairly uneventful hunting season. Maybe I can close the book on this season on a high note. About an hour left to make it happen.

Wow what a difference a few days make.... It's 47 here in Md today and actually very pleasant... Just hope these temps don't hamper the Deer moving.... Still nice being out today... Feels like late Sept early Oct here!!!

Dang AshAid, thats a fine looking view. What was planted in the food plot (field)? Id have a hard time trying to figure out where I wanted to sit, looks like any spot there could be productive,...

this is a sweet 337 acre Public Land spot right on the Md/Pa line.... These are the trails they make to get in and out of the woods and smaller trails along these big openings. I Have had plenty of success here over the yrs (but not this season) didn't see a single deer today.... But did see alot of squirrels lol... But non the less it was beautiful out there today

    Crop land verses pasture land
Just wanted to get some opinions on different hunting grounds. I am from Louisiana and looking at trying to lease some land in Kansas or Missouri and want to know if the deer quality is better on land that has crop rotations corn and soy bean, or regular pasture land that raise cattle. I would also make sure it had some type of hardwood trees also for good stand location. I have been hunting southern LA and MS and have never had the chance to hunt property like I have described. All the property that I have hunted for for many years has been cutover and piney woods with a moisture of hardwoods and it seems hard to pattern deer and find out where they bed and feed. So just wanted to know what type y'all hunt and what kind of success

Took a good friend of mine today, it was his 1st time out Bowhunting. He just got his Bow in early Nov and has been practicing since. It was a good day, saw 5 Does but out of range... Then had a stray dog walk by, and to top it off had a older gentleman and his dog come to about 25yds away from us across the stream. Fun day over all !!!!!!
