Night #2 for me.. All tucked in. 4:15, 72 degrees, with a SE at about 15. Had a doe in the beans right behind my stand before I even crawled up! Had to bust her just so I could get in.
Been back in the stand since 3 and nothing is happening yet. Temp has gone up to 75f with no wind and no clouds. I'm over looking a small kill plot where I seen 2 deer last week but didn't come close enough for a shot, we will see how it goes. Good luck to all out hunting.
Got totally shut out on the youth hunt all weekend. I was bummed. Got back in the blind this morning well before daylight. Like a couple of Ninjas we waited for our prey. Nothing. So we waited some more. More Nothing. Waited until my stomach started to growl so loud that you'd think there was a bear in the woods. Packed up, went home, empty handed.
Another doe just came by. I was gunna shoot her at 30 when she stepped on the trail. But of course she turned and went the other way....
Had 2 does at 20yds but couldn't get my bow them at last light a spike went past at 15yds which we cannot shoot. All in all it was a good hunt.
Virgin sit on a new piece of public ground bumped a couple does on the way in and I just missed a doe at 21.5 yds shot right under her punching myself in the face right now ... She surprised me not gonna lie she took off blowing. Morning is young. Sitting in a hedrow surrounded by corn
Stay in school, don't be a fool ! Correction my arrow is in the dirt @ 24 yds. I had my 20 yd pin just above the heart. Common sense tells me it shouldn't drop that much at 4-5 yds, but who knows I shoot a 450 grain arrow. Should have wore a hoody it's cold up here!
This is my third hunt for the year. My fourth archery hunt ever. It's 3:37. I'm hunting a small piece of state land in Southeast Connecticut. My first 2 hunts this year were down in the bottom where I got one picture of a real nice 10 pointer. But, seeing how I've never shot a deer with a bow I'll be happy with just about anything. I didn't see anything on my first 2 hunts. The wind is right. So I figured I'd try my ladder stand up on an oak ridge. I just got settled in. Had to walk all the way back to the car after realizing I forgot my bow holder. Ouch! Sounds like I have a turkey clucking down to my right. I'll check back in if anything happens.
