Round two with the slug gun. Windy and little cold don't know how long I'll be in tree but I'm close to couple good spots on ground

Well that was a eventful afternoon. Got out of tree hecause of wind picking up and about 15 mins later heard shots too close to be neighbors. Looked across field to see someone standing in gateway. Walked over and it ended up being my buddy and his girlfriend walking draws. So ended up doin that for awhile. The gf ended up shooting a decent doe.

As I was sitting there before met uo with buddy was looking across field towards were my other stands are and the neighbors apparently don't like to walk because they were driving around dropping people off in truck and then parked fairly close to where the deer come onto property I hunt. So it wouldn't of been all that good a day either place I sat. Eont know if I'll go out or not in morning. Might just wait until after gun season and go Mon and Tues with bow.

Well didn't get to update from the stand so I'll update from the house. Got in late this morning and was already getting light when I got up the tree. I looked around as I started to pull my gun up and there was a big 10 staring at me. I was able to get a shot off but missed. Then when I climbed down I set my gun on the road and went back to get my stand. I'm almost back to it when the spike I missed with a bow comes bounding in and stops about 10 yds from me. He is panting hard and after staring me down just meanders off. Didn't see anything this afternoon. Taking my dad out tomorrow morning. Going to be single digits. Need to find my thermals.

Well I'm out. Hoping this cold weather will have the deer moving. I had a choice between a stand or the blind. It was an easy decision once I checked the cams. The tree stand doesn't have one of these.

Call me a wuss all you want, at least I'm a warm wuss. Good luck to anyone else out today.

A little when you first get it going. But who knows what a deer can smell off it. I had a deer blowing this morning before day light, but it was over where I walked in, so not sure if it was
Blowing at my smell, the heater, or something totally different.

Just had a lone doe walk by at 135 yds, only thing I have seen so far today. Turkeys have been making a bunch if racket behind me.

You know it's cold when you have to thaw out a candy bar to eat it.
