Well, I've gotten myself in a predicament. Decided to shoot a doe this morning as she came 20 yards from my stand. I drew back and she happened to stop where I needed her to. Squeezed the release and the shot looked great. She ran for a second and then stopped and I thought she was gonna fall. She laid down after a minute. Well, here came a little buck down the ridge and I knew this was trouble. I tried spooking him without her seeing me. Didn't work, tried grunting loudly to get his attention so I could spook him but didn't work. He pushes her into the thicket. She laid down and he pushed her again. I immediately get down and retrieve my arrow. Looks like a yellow bile. I go into the thicket not knowing what I should do. Then the little buck comes back my way and I'm thinking maybe she died and he gave up on her. I spooked him off and proceed that direction. I then hear her moving around on the thicket edge in the broomsage. She let out a chilling bawl that made me feel like crap. So here I am, 40 yards from her and I'm still not convinced she's dead (although that bawl usually indicates that). Gonna sit here and wait it out.

I don't think it was a compete gut shot. Think I got liver too. It's been an hour since I shot. Gonna sit here for at least another hour before trying to move closer.
