Made a decision to take the next one that came out to put in the freezer. Ended up being a small 1 1/2 yr. old. Unfortunately I spined him, had to race down the tree and put another in him. Good new is he's done, wow what a horrible feeling.

Vacation over, a bit unfortunate ending.

Never realized he was higher than me. Looked level from stand but being here he was maybe a foot higher.

    Never even considered spine

Inside the last hour before gun season starts.
If nothing today I'll be back after rifle season.
Haven't decided if I'll gun hunt or not.

That's a wrap on my vacation. Having used both buck tags I'll probably forgo the first shotgun season. Work is shutting down 3 weeks over the holidays so I'll be able to get back out eventually.

While it was rather slow I can't complain. 3 deer in the freezer, one good buck, and still have 2 days left to relax. Hopefully work picks up and avoids the shutdown. 3 weeks pay is hard to replace.

I'm whooped 6 all day sits in 8 days with a 2 hour round trip drive.

    PS,

I smell like a human, and it feels great!

Now I feel like pulling an end to Poltergeist scene, instead of a TV putting all my alarms clocks outside.

I will be, we've had duck, dove and quail hunters as well. Doubt those were all with a bow.

    Your season start tomorrow?

Good luck, that lead will go through a bit more than an arrow will. Really hope you get one of the two in your sights.

You sticking to the mature bucks with the lead slinger as well?
