I think he found the arrow and did not show any sign of any guts.

Sweet Brett!! Sounds like you more then likely hit shoulder on other side. Good luck on the track. I'll wait to congratulate you until you find your buck. ;)

As for myself I passed on the same 10 point this morning that I passed on last Thursday morning. Had him as close as 8 yards on 3 different occasions. This time I was about 150 yards west of where I saw him Thursday hunting a buck cruising trail that borders a doe bedding area. When I saw him Thursday I figured he was at least a 3 year old, maybe even a 4 year old. Upon further inspection from today I gotta take that back I believe. Last Thursday I passed him up because I was after a different and bigger buck. Last Saturday the buck I was after got gunned down in the opener of our gun season here. So I then said to myself I might take that 10 if he walks in front of me again. I figured he was in that 125 inch range.

Fast forward to this morning I saw him cruising right through the doe bedding. 10 minutes later he's on a doe and their coming right for me. He comes by at 14 yards and his body looks small to me so I let him go. Smaller then he did just 7 days ago. I figured maybe 140lbs dressed. He then came by again 30 minutes later chasing another doe at the same yardage. Again his body looked small. 30 minutes later he comes by again but this time at about 8 yards. He stands broadside looking the opposite way looking at the doe he was chasing. I got a great look at him then and figured at most he would dress 145lbs. To me this tells me he's a 2 year old. His rack is super skinny. Mass the size of my thumb finger. He's in that 120 to 125 inch range. If anyway I thought he was a 3 year old I would've shot him but being I think he's now a 2 year old he's got some super potential. Gosh I hope he isn't a 3 year old as he isn't nothing special then genes wise. Live to see another year Mr 10 pointer. Stay in my woods please!!

I took this picture after he walked away to about 15 yards. Picture isn't very good. Hard to see all of his points. His G2's and G3's are in that 7 inch range. End forks are maybe a couple inches. His G1's are short too, maybe 4 inches.

Good luck VS! I really hope you find him. 14'' of penetration sounds like a dead deer to me.

Brett! Awesome buddy, good luck with recovery.

Went out last night and saw all young deer. 5-6 doe (fawns and yearlings) and grunted in a spike to 10 yards.

We are believing it is still in the buck...just not hardly a blood trail due to no exit....I am thinking he wacked the ball on the opposite shoulder...he is shooting Stingers an those things penetrate like crazy...

My buddy shot a nice 8 last week that was slightly quartering towards him. Shot when in towards the mid rib section and exited near the opposite leg, travelled about 300yds with spotty blood. Looks like VS has a better shot at a similar angle. Amazing how these deer can travel so far.

Well behind the shoulder on one side and hitting the shoulder on the other side is dead deer. Just got to find it. Must not of been 1/4 too much, if at all then, if that was the case.

I did that, once, it was 77 degrees. I never leave the truck without it now lol. As soon as I get out it goes on my wrist.

    Plenty of time
