    I can sit here with confidence and say the rut is officially on in my area. This morning there was an increase in deer along the highway and tonight confirmed it all. In the hour that I was able to be in the woods I saw 4 small bucks and one possible, not confirmed, shooter 8.

    All of the small bucks were chasing a doe around until the 8 took over and started following her like a puppy dog. He was 30/40 yards away but there was a woodlot separating us. I gave him a couple of grunts and snort wheezes which got his attention making him tear up a tree. I was just waiting for him to come but he stuck with the doe that ran off into the woods the opposite direction.

    Let's just say I will be taking Friday off of work. If I don't kill a buck its not going to be due to my lack of hunting.

    That was with iPhone flash, had to turn it on for the timer app so I knew how many photos had been taken. Notice the deer in headlight look on me, I'm thinking how many was that and I need to move before the next one goes off for contest photos.

    Thanks everyone, I had literally moved stands and was going to shoot the next deer that wiped by. Luckily my spot and stalk skills sucked and I was forced into a stand I wasn't going to sit. But either one would have worked for him, had he not seen me in he other one.

    congrats on the buck!!!

    I only seen 1 deer this afternoon he was a nice 8p he was walking the field line at 150yds and I rattled/grunted him in to about 60yds then he lost interest and walked away. The good news is I get a 3hr hunt 2moz before my wife goes work and it will be a bone chilling 17f :) I hope I have the same movement as I did this morning!!!
