Next time you want to drink one of those, check your blood pressure before and after. You will not believe the jump in BP, I used to drink them every morning before work, until my wife, nurse in training, did that exact thing to me. Needless to say I dont drink them any more.

If I manage to shoot something in the last hour I might just do the Luke skywalker ton-ton warm up! Winds have to be nearing 30 now.

Woods are closing up fast. Down to 15 yds. one way and 20 another. Think I'm calling it and still hunting back up. Rain picking up

I just seen an absolute monster. By far the biggest buck I have ever seen outside of the internet and hunting shows. I think 180 would be easy. Left my uncles and seen 2 deer in the cut corn, glasses them and both does. Rounded the corner and seen 3 more in a cut bean field. Stopped and glassed them, 2 bucks and a doe. Smaller buck was probably 120-130 and was a couple hundred yards from the big guy. Only about a 1/4 mile from my stand but I'll never see him lol. I tried to get my phone cam through the binoculars, could get the road in the headlights in focus but the field was too dark and couldn't get anything. This field butts up to the woods being logged.

Got to spend my veterans day afternoon in the deer stand. :) Got in about 2 at about 3 o' clock 3 ladies come by on horses. Laughing and shouting basically being obnoxious. :( They came within 20 yards stopped and discussed which wy to go. They must have went the wrong way cause 20 min later they came back by. This time within 15 yards. They never saw me so I guess my camo works. Anyway I love public land and the fact that I still have not seen a deer yet ths season while in my stand. Uggggg! I am just going to shoot the giant 8 point that was in my neighborhood on Saturday night

Brrrrrrr, 24 degrees with a coating of snow. I'll be dressed appropriately for it today. Plenty of hand warmers, heat pads and going to try the soup thing today. Hopefully this cold shot is the missing piece of the puzzle.

    Good luck everyone

Careful ascending permanent stands in IL. Betting there's going to be some icy steps out there.

    Be safe

Ok this is it. The coldest day by far this season, 21f with a hi 36f. It's my last sit before rifle season so I'm going for an all day sit. Wife called in sick to look after our kid just so I could :) good luck to all hunting.

Rain before the freeze made for a rather loud entry. Didn't hear anything get bumped, but not sure that I could have. Should be able to hear the deer coming for the first few hours, maybe 1/4-1/2" of snow dusting the ground. Envious of PT's photo though.

Nov. 12 and snow on the ground while in stand during the rut, love it!

All settled in waiting on full daylight. Just enough snow to make everything real visible. Good luck everyone and be safe.

Almost hit a decent buck on the way here, saw one out in the field when I pulled in, seen zero on stand so far. It's windy and my tree is small ...
